Well my buddy got out to the farm yesterday and the report is good. The Sunflower patch turned out ok in most areas. Unfortunately got it a little thin in one area. Gotta get a planter. The bean/corn plots are just flat kicking arse with all this rain. The beans last year must have fixed a lot of Nitogen because this field has not been fertilized at all this year. Planted a mix of Sunn Hemp, Quail Haven vining soybeans and something called Teosinate around the perimeter of the bean/corn fields for screening. Seems to be doing pretty good. This has been my most ambitious summer planting ever with 4.5 acres of beans/corn, 2 acres of Sunflowers and another 1.5 acre in the screening mix and finally am planting enough I do not need to fence the beans/corn. They are browsing the heck out of it but there is just to much for them to wipe it out.

Looks damn good. Your lucky to be able to have enough flat ground to plant that large of an area. One day. Yep, I have gorgeous woods and views for miles, but hard to find a place to put any green fields.
