Many people in Colorado regret legalizing it. I recently read an article on the subject and the homeless population, theft, panhandling, etc...has skyrocketed since the law changed. They are saying lots of people from all over have moved there just to smoke dope. There's talk of rescinding the law.

Many people in Colorado regret legalizing it. I recently read an article on the subject and the homeless population, theft, panhandling, etc...has skyrocketed since the law changed. They are saying lots of people from all over have moved there just to smoke dope. There's talk of rescinding the law. There is too much money being made and taxes coming in for rescinding it to happen. That to me is a pipe dream. May you please post the article.

I'll try and go back and find it. It's been several weeks since I read it. It was probably on Fox News website since that's what I read most of the time. The article mentioned how it has affected tourism to lots of their vacation sites because of the large amounts of panhandling and such.

Here's why rescinding it I believe is a complete pipedream. Once a government becomes accustomed to these sort of HUGE numbers they don't give it up and prohibitions have largely been proven to be ineffective. Anything can be bad for you if you over do it.It has to be the newer more powerful strains that causes it. I quit 20 years ago but smoked plenty for 10 years before that and never even heard of such a thing. same here that stuff has changed from 10 years ago.

I have several friends that live in Colorado or have vacation homes there. Not a single one of them has mentioned a thing about increased homeless or panhandling. One of them is a retired judge from Louisiana. I have spoken with him about it and he said it isnt any different Yeah, that is definitely anti-marijuana talking points, well, I mean the truth is all of these places that are legalizing already had worse homelessness, etc than the rest of the country b/c of all the government handouts. I can promise you homeless people are not flocking to Colorado to go be able to legally buy $40 a gram weed!!

I remember reading that businesses in Colorado were having a hard time hiring/keeping dependable employees since pot had become legal. Some businesses were even leaving the state to overcome that.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I can say that pan-handling has never been worse in Colorado Springs. Literally every intersection. Weed ain't good. It does have its uses though. I've seen fifty times more damage and destruction from alcohol than I can even imagine from weed. Don't tell me weed is bad when i can walk in a state store and buy a bottle of tequila. Guess it depends on how you measure 'damage and destruction'. Weed has its place and with the state involved, I suspect it will be mishandled. Soon weed will be as a accessible and mainstream as alcohol then we can compare apples to apples.
