What are you hay cutters projecting a roll of hay to be worth this year? I hope it comes down, no way I can pay $50 a roll like it went to last year.

'Huntress would know for sure, but I think the highest we paid last year was 40 or 45, and that was only once...usually 35-40.

Hay prices are extremely dependent on supply and demand. This spring is looking much more favorable for hay production than last years drought. I would think prices will be cheaper than last year.

Buy early, pay less. We get dry again, it'll be the same price and "quality" of most bought hay last year.

They are already cutting down here. We have had a good grass growing season so far.

I'm gonna haul about 20 rolls of last year's hay Monday. I figure it's cheap insurance. BTW, I bartered my hay last year by helping my supplier cut & bale but in dollar figures I got it for $32 a roll delivered. It was $25 the last couple of years.

We sell ours for $45 every year unless someone buys it all like they did last year. Also keep in mind that round bales come in different sizes so what sounds like a good deal may just be a small 4x4 roll. We sell 5x5s.

Folks around here got a good first cutting and the second will be a bumper crop with all the rain we've had lately
