Planted 1 ton of corn and 2 tons of soybeans on 70 acres at the club last week. It's already had two rains. Spread over two miles of road side with brown top millet, corn, clay peas, soybeans, lab lab, and sunflower yesterday before last nights' rain. This is the first time I have tried the top sow along the road sides. Plus, filled the feeders with 3,500 pounds of protein pellets, corn, and walnut mix. I sure hope my deer don't commit gluttony!!!

The man who arranged for me to lease the property some 12 years ago ask if he could hunt as long as I had the property. He has been there maybe 6 times in the past 12 years. The other three pay $5,000.00 to hunt the 800 acre farm that I have lease for row crops. They can hunt the 1,600 acres also, if they choose. They hardly ever hunt the 1,600 acres. My oldest member of 11 years, has coon hunted the 1,600 a couple of times, but has never deer hunted it. Another hunted 1/2 of a day last season, and the third has hunted it 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years. Those guys don't have the time to scout both places. Plus 3 guys hunting 800 acres is less pressure than 10 hunting 1,600 acres.
