I just went to buy my TX license and it looks like they have to mail it to me due to the tags involved. Is this correct? I hunted TX years ago and don't remember this; and I've never hunted another state that doesn't let you print your license if you buy it online. Am I understanding this right? So do the Walmarts and such sell licenses? Last time I went to NE, you couldn't walk into a store and buy one; it had to be done online. Looks like TX is just the opposite. When I am appointed Turkey Czar, all this madness will cease. I will have one turkey license that is good in all states. Any shortfalls that creates for game departments will be made up by taxing the rich.

Bought mine at Walmart in Texas and still have all 4 tags if you wanna use them, I didn't get to dang fine feller here! Indeed he is! But I think the State of TX might object. Thanks for the info. Guess I gotta include a stop at Walmart in the trip.

Better give yourself plenty of extra time if you're depending on a Wal-Mart employee to sell you a license.
Took me 20 minutes to find anyone in the Florida Wal-Mart and after another 30 minutes and 2 more employees I finally just walked out without a license. Had it bought and saved into my phone using the same website they were on within 5 minutes of pulling out of the parking lot!

They will ship it ASAP preacher, buy them now and you will have them mid week I'd say. I always buy early before season and get them quick. You get a confirmation email with license but you have to have the tags too. You also need to look at the prof of sex Requirements in Texas. There is an exeption to it where you can get a paper signed by the landowner with sex of turkey, name of hunter, date, etc and be legal. I always print a spreadsheet ahead of time with hunter names on it and stay ahead of the game that way. We weren't aware of it the first year and found the exception while we were they are got legal quick like. It's hard to bring a whole bird back and those breasts freeze well and travel even better.

Bout every walmart and some heb sale them, most all sporting good stores as well. Be careful of one thing ive had alot of people go in walmart from out of state an buy liscenses an never check them until they got ready to hunt or had killed an animal an they would realize that they had accidently been given a 5 day pass due to the cashier getting confused because of your out of state DL. Dont sound like a big deal but it would blow ur mind at how many walmarts screwed this up. The 5 day passes are basically good for dove and other small game. But they charged same price as the turkey liscense so be careful and inspect ur liscense

Thanks for this warning and all the others. Problem is I am pulling outa here early Monday, so no chance to wait on mail. There is a store in Shamrock that is supposed to sell licenses, so my GPS is programmed to go there first. I read the regs on proof of sex. If I kill anything, I will skin him and leave the feet attached. I can finish butchering him in OK where they aren't quite as crazy. Will this work ok? I'm probably gonna need to give them away anyway; not sure they will keep on ice for 3 weeks.
