You have someone in Florida or Tennessee you can get one shipped to? If so, check out the Weaver Classic Extremes on Natchez Shooters Supply. You can get what you are looking for in an illuminated reticle for $249. I've had scopes that cost 3 times that and weren't any brighter in low light.

Never understood Natchez shooting supply not shipping to Alabama They are a wholesaler and won't sale to individuals in states they have retail customers.

I've got a Leupold Vari X III, 6 1/2 - 20 x 50 Long Range with tall target turrets. It has a 30mm tube, no ring marks, not skinned up, and Fine Duplex crosshairs. Call it 400 bucks. I'll mail it to you packed and insured for $400 replacement and let you look it over if you want and then you can decide. If you don't like it, mail it back insured for $400 replacement and packed securely.
I think the original price was $787 at Cabelas. The serial number suffix is "H", so it was born in the year 2000. It comes with a screw on sunshade and lifetime warranty.
I don't use it and frankly, my old 56 year old eyes don't like the Fine Duplex at dark. I only used it as a range scope. I was going to get it re-reticled, but never got around to sending it back to Leupold.
Just throwing that out there for ya to drive around the block if ya want. Pay me only if ya like it and I won't be a dick on the price.

I get Natchez stuff all the time if you want to buy from them and have it sent here. You offer financing Wood? I need a few scopes myself
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

I really appreciate the fine gesture but I had a scope just like it and while it makes a great target scope it sucks for hunting..I'm looking to max out with a 16 magnification and under $500 if possible.Like I said I don't want to drop alotta $$$ on a scope for this rifle cause yall know how I am and it may be gone before the scope even gets mounted on it.

I recently bought an athlon argos and I am very impressed! I actually pulled a Vortex Viper HST off and replaced it with this athlon. Give them a look, try out usaoptics.net they were in alabama but they recently moved to texas. Took 2 days to get here but was worth it.
Jason I'll check them out.Thanks

No offense taken brother. I found it to be the same way for me, it needs a heavier plex and it's awful tall with the turrets. If you want to look at Natchez stuff EVER, you can have it shipped here. That's a standing offer. Good luck on your search, my man.

I've got an SWFA SS posted on here that fits the bill nicely except it's only a 42mm objective.
I've got a Rem 700 20" bull barrel 308 I'll make you a package deal on😉 Even have some new 30mm rings.
You're only as good as your worst shot-
