Had this happen in a woody hole one morning with a group of high school kids. They were blaring modern day country music and threw out about 2.5 dozen decoys. They shot at every duck that was within 100 yards.

Lol. The first gator hunt I went on SOBs would pull 65 yards in front of ya and start spotlighting. We had some interesting conversations with two of them wink grin

Oh but wait. I can top that. ( I know, I'm THAT guy) But let's say you arrive in a remote FOB in western Iraq and it's late at night and you notice a crude but welcoming 4 hole burnout pit. (Aka the schitter) so you go out there and pick one on the end, just as you sit down a drunken Marine walks over, plops down right next to you and starts making conversation while he's straining to drop a load!
With two more empty holes to choose, on the other end!

Then there's the guy that tries to stand where his face is 6 inches from your face while talking to you. I used to work with one of those. About the third time I needed to back away from him, I told him a good dentist to go see if he EVER got anywhere near elbow reach again. I had tried to turn sideways and spread my feet wide to block him from encroaching the second time I saw him coming. He didn't get the hint. He just stepped around my foot. The third time I was already annoyed.

Somewhat similar deal here. I drive a very isolated stretch of road every day to and from work. Meet maybe 3-5 cars in 15 miles when it's very early or late at night. They'll not be one car a mile in front of me or a mile behind me, but people want to drive about 3 car lengths behind me. It's one of my greatest pet-peeves the older I get. I just automatically let off the gas and slow down to 35 until they pass me now. If they don't pass, I'm content to slow on down to 25 and just drive like that until they get it....
The most dangerous place on the highway is right next to another 2 Ton vehicle.
I've seen 4-5 vehicles on that road all within a few car lengths of each other with nobody for miles around them. Crazy...

I saw a hell of a fight one night over that same thing. Friends BIL would get to drinking and really get in your face, and LOUDLY. My friend told him a couple of times to back off and he wouldn't. Next time he got in his face he acquired a brand new ass stomping.

I hate the parking thing. My work vehicle is a large truck and takes up 2 parking spots longways. I make it a point to be WELL out and away in a parking lot. Cant tell you how many times some jackleg pulls into the spot right next to my drivers door when there is nothing else around for 150 ft.

Restaurants would be #2. I usually eat lunch at 11 , or after 1 to avoid the crowds.
Buffet seat your self restaurant and im # 1 in line when the doors open. Family of 15 comes in behind me. I get my plate made and go sit down in a faraway corner before they are even thru the line paying and guess where the 15 come to sit.

I just picked all my stuff up and moved to the other side.

Movie theaters would be #3.

the parking lot at work is a good walk when you have to park at the far end, probably a quarter mile to my office. Its pretty full by the time i get there. So i started parking at the restaurant across the street from the company. Not only did the other folks that seen me start doing this they wanna take mine and my co-workers exact spots. Before to much longer somebody else seen them and started taking their spot. Beats all i've ever seen.

Have done this many times, some just because I didn't want folks around and others when someone would sit nearby and start trying to engage in conversation.

Similar to being on a plane and the person next to you starts talking, if I'm not engaging, am looking at a newspaper or magazine or my phone and ignoring everything else, it should be pretty damned clear that I don't want to talk. Best thing about being on a plane now is the combo of headphones and a book or magazine.

Ive lit up folks in the doctors office several times.
There's always the loudmouth who wants everyone to know why he's there and how long he's been there.
Or the guy who wants to make new friends in the lobby.
Or the ding dong mommy with 5 snotty nose younguns.
Before I leave they all usually know exactly what I think of them.

Got behind one at a red light yesterday. Light turns green and they don't move, why you ask, because they had there head stuck in a phone. I gave them a few seconds to look up but noooo, they just keep looking down. So I gave them a bump on the horn, just a short bump. The head snapped up and they took off only to be stopped because the light had already changed. Funny thing was for the next round of sitting at the light the head was up and lips moving, I think I was getting a cussing. The really sad part is there was a kid in the passenger seat that just turned around and stared at me like I was a cald or something. So let's just teach our child to be an idiot like me!

I guess the same can be applied to popular subdivisions and living just feet from each other. I'm forced to do it in my business, as it seems I constantly move from one of my long term rentals to the other as folks move away to do upkeep and repair for the next tenant. I'ts cheaper for me to do that than sitting in all my earned equity in a big fat house that I would be making payments on myself, so I live with it for now.

I know folks that fall all over themselves and pay way too much just for the prestige of living in a high-falutin' subdivision or section with only 1/4 acre lots or less. I ain't got to impress anybody that bad.
