Depends on the state. Click the link, scroll down, click on the critter under the interactive map to see which states allow or prohibit it. http://www.crosman.com/airbow

Do you have one of these yet, Extreme, or have you shot one?
They're pricey and require an air tank of some sort to reload the gun's air tank. I don't understand the whole process. It's not complicated but it's not a bow or gun, either.

if you are not able to shoot a real bow, why don't you use a gun, your not a bowhunter! We fought and lost that battle. I was one of the most outspoken opponents. I also shoot a crossbow today due shoulder injuries. Of course I would qualify for a medical exemption under the old rules as well. But I honestly can't see the crossman contraption being legal in archery season. Other than shooting an arrow-like projectile, it has absolutely nothing in common with archery equipment.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

They have to be charged with high compressed air, 3200 psi. You cant charge it with a regular air compressor. Its basically a pre-charged pneumatic air rifle.

if you are not able to shoot a real bow, why don't you use a gun, your not a bowhunter! So you shoot a stick bow and NOT a compound. Very impressive that you are a traditional bow hunter. A compound bow might as well be a crossbow. Compound bows are not real bows either with all the letoff and minimal sustained effort to hold one back. In Joe's first post, he never said that hunting with the air-powered Crosman made him a bowhunter by using one. He only asked if it was legal to hunt with one.

the pope and young club is one of the oldest and most respected archery clubs in the world and COMPOUND BOW kills are accepted in the records book, but cross bow and air bow kills are not !wonder why? Because money drives the industry and most folks won't spend the time and effort to learn how to shoot a stick bow. Any 14 year old can pick up an off the shelf compound bow and have a peep put on it and some fancy sights and a trigger release and be close to the ten ring within minutes. Try that with a stick bow with no sights, where you shoot fingers and judge distance from pure rote memory and experience. It's all market driven. Don't get me wrong, I shoot compounds too, but there's not any sense of accomplishment in it compared to a real bow. That's what separates the men from the boys. My whole point, since you missed it, is that the OP never even brought up bow hunting. He was asking about the legality of the Crosman Air, and you took the opportunity to throw off on him. i don't know why you even had to comment like that since the subject had NOTHING to do with bows or bowhunting.

if you are not able to shoot a real bow, why don't you use a gun, your not a bowhunter! I'm perfectly able to shoot a "real" bow and I do. I don't give 2 shitsabout pope and young. I only bow hunt until rifle season but in a couple places I like to hunt, it is archery only. Your petty little bitch comment is no different than the ones made against rifle hunting. You hunt the way you want and I'll hunt the way I want.
