Hazel Green AL
Moved here last fall from CO and have not fished warm water in like 45 years. I have a 12' sit on top kayak. Anybody got any suggestions on places to check out. Not trying to steel your honey hole just some ideas. Live up N in Hazel Green have access to Redstone Arsenal river access points also

Thanks JS

There are more creeks in alabama than probably any other state. Hit one of them, you are bound to catch a bunch of fish.

Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

Buy yourself a Gazateer and start exploring those little blue lines all over it. There is a lot good water within a relatively short drive of your location. Unfortunately as kayak fishing has grown in popularity, a lot of guys are reluctant to share their favorite floats for fear of them becoming overcrowded. There are groups out there that will help you find the info you seek, but I wouldn't expect them to volunteer the info right off the bat.

If you want to continue some cold water fishing, go up to tims ford dam and fish the elk river below it. Decent stocker rainbows and I've seen a couple really nice browns! Warm water, take the yak and hit briar fork creek, flint river, paint rock, mountain fork or farther south...limestone creek. There are some good yak fishermen here on the forum, maybe they'll chime in.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Look on crappie.com in the Alabama forum. Theres a guy on there that only kayak fishes and he wears em out. From what I've seen he fishes north bama.

The Flint is our favorite. You can take as many baits as you want, but a black/yellow 1/8 oz beetle spin on 6lb test is the only one you really need. You're welcome. smile
