I was fishing at one of our ponds at the club when one sounded off on his own. This was at about 6:35. So I grabbed my gun and headed out for him. He was in a little green field but I never got a shot due to a bad setup. He gobbled at me 3 or 4 times before flying up to roost on the edge of the greenfield at around 6:55. Since the moon is pretty bright tonight, would it be a bad idea to walk through the green field to get set up? Or would you set up on the logging road that leads to the green field and try to call him to me?

I'd slip into the green field with no light. In the edge- no decoy. No calling. Bet he pitches in range

The moon was up early today which means it will probably set before sun up. Look up the moon rise and set times to be sure. If the moon is down it should be dark and you can slip close. Go well before daylight and dress warm.

Don't call until he is on the ground that way you can reposition based on the direction he pitches down. Kill him!

He hung up on the other side and then headed across the property line. Maybe I should've put a decoy out. Dangit I'm sick.

Go fishing at same pond. At 5 pm go setup in good cameo/cover on the same route he left the roost to the other property.

Place a game camera in video mode on that route about 30 yards out at the correct angle to get him and you in the video.

Don't call.

About 6:15 he will come walking up.

Don't shoot the camera.

I do like a lil tree yelp...then put the call down...imitate a flydown with just ur hat if he ain't collide enough to see and then scratch in leaves
