I have always had a soft spot for the mini 14s. I finally found one in 300blk. Got rid of the plastic stock and put a wood stock on. Got the irons zeroed for subs and the vortex 1-4 For supersonic deer and hog loads. I love the way this gun turned out. It is a decent shooter but it has a great tone suppressed. Sounds much better than my 300blk ar15s. I am going to refinish the wood stock here soon and stain it. I am waiting on an adjustable gas block right now so I can tune the gas system and xompletely shut gas off for really quiet sub loads, basically turn it into a bolt gun when i want to. Once I get the trigger cleaned up it should shoot pretty slick and it is pretty short and handy. [img:center] [/img] [img:center] [/img]

Always wanted me a mini-14. They pricey nowadays.

How do you like the scope? I am thinking I want something similar for my truck gun, and am considering it and the leupold vx1 hog hunter. I really like this scope but I like the vxhog too. I have both. The Leupold is on my 4570. The pros of the vortex is that it is illuminated and the reticle is not as thick. The pros of the Leopold is that it seems to gather more light, it feels lighter, and the eye box and relief are better. But the vxhog reticle is pretty thick so not too good for precision work but great for hunting in the woods.
