I'm thinking about getting a budget O/U 20 gauge and setting it up for turkey hunting. Does anybody have experience with the stoeger condor? Or do you have any recommendations.

I would love to have a 20 ga cynergy in bottomland, but I don't need one. I have a Yildiz .410 O/U that I like a lot.

I have a 20g o/u condor I use some.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Do the 20 ga Stoeger's use Benelli/Beretta chokes like the 12 ga?

I shoot a CZ O/U 20 reduced length. Chrome lined barrels. It's bad medicine.

I'm thinking about a 20ga O/U turkey gun myself. I'd like a cynergy but I've been looking at the CZ reduced length also.

I used to shoot a FIE 12 O/U with fixed full/modified chokes. The chokes actually measure like a extra full and improved modified. Had the barrels polished . It's big medicine!

I have a 20g o/u condor I use some. Does it throw good patterns? Here's the gun, it's a youth. Here's one pattern I found. It's 1 5/8 HW 7s @ 40 yards. Here's another. 1 5/8 9s tss. It normally does around 250-275 with this load. But to be honest it's one I haven't tinkered with much. They both are adequate enough. Now, this one has extractors which I really don't care for. Not a deal breaker just my opinion. Both barrels shoot fairly close together in comparison to the other 4 or 5 O/U guns I have. I just took the first chokes I saw and used them, so it may shoot a little better. It also has a horrible trigger. The worst I ever seen on a shotgun. Also no barrel selector on mine. But I paid 275 for it. If I was buying another 20g it would be a citori or cynergy. But of the cheaper options I like the quality a little better on the cz or similar guns. I really like the little yildiz I bought in 28g also, but chokes are harder to find. But my gun is older, there may be some differences in the newer models.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

My Yildiz is a sxs. I've tested a bunch of sxs guns and I'm yet to find one that will center both barrels shooting tss. Some of them will center lead, but not tss. 2 barrel guns have to be designed with barrel convergence to account for the recoil, and most are designed for field loads. It is essentially impossible for any 2 barrel gun to center all loads; compromises have to be made. The heavier the gun is, the less this becomes an issue.
While sxs guns have L-R issues, o/u guns tend to have up-down issues regarding poi. It seems like from reading turkey forums that the o/u problems tend to not be as bad. If you buy a gun that is marketed as a turkey gun or waterfowl gun then the convergence should be set correctly for heavy turkey loads. But if you buy a light field gun don't be surprised if you have poi issues with turkey loads.
The good news is that it is possible to correct poi issues. The expensive option is to have Brileys make eccentric chokes for it. They have a formula they have developed thru the years to correct the problem. Unfortunately, their formula is designed for lead and it doesn't work well with tss. On their second try, they made me a choke that works for the Yildiz. I use a regular choke for one barrel and an eccentric choke in the other, and both barrels shoot to the same place now.
A cheaper option is to file the choke to change the poi. If one barrel shoots where you want it, it isn't hard to file the choke of the other one to make it shoot to the same place. And with most guns using screw in chokes, you won't be making a permanent change to the gun. Filing the choke does open up the pattern, but to me the whole point of having 2 barrels on a turkey gun is having 2 chokes. So buy the gun you want and be confident you can make it shoot straight.

A buddy of mine got one of these from ATI. https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/...813393019050.doThe 9" barrel extensions are supposedly for duck hunting, but when you take them out, it's just a standard 21" OU. He shoots TSS through it and gets really good patterns. It's a pretty sweet little set up. That is a new one on me. I wonder who makes it for them and what it weighs? Gotta be made in Turkey, but they make some good guns there now. I forgot to say in my previous post that the sxs that threw the most centered patterns of any gun I tested was a CZ. It was huntable with tss right out of the box. I never made it into a turkey gun because it was as heavy as some of my 12 gauge guns, but it did shoot really well. Yildiz is the only one I'm aware of that uses an alloy for the receiver. This really saves on the weight, and mine weighs 5 lbs 6 oz. The CZ is 6-11. I think there may be some other companies who make o/u guns with alloy receivers, and I would definitely look for one of them for a turkey gun.

I don't know an exact weight, but his is really light. I handled it a little bit the other day and it's a solid feeling little gun. It is Turkish made. I'm assuming it's coming out of the same factory as their Calvary lineup. It also comes drilled and tapped. https://www.americantactical.us/5403/detail.html

I have the same setup as 2dogs with a CZ reduced length 20 gauge o/u and it throws a nice pattern with Carlson chokes but the POI/POA is about 9" difference between the barrels. I also have an ATI 28 gauge o/u that shoots pretty much same POI/POA in both barrels. Its now my go to gun for turkeys.
