Got a good deal on a 7'6" Duckett Inshore spinning rod and want to put a good reel in it. Looking at a Penn spinfisher V 4500 with or without live liner system. May do some light offshore fishing with it as well. Any suggestions?

Spinfisher is okay. Stradic 4000 expensive but great. Penn Battle - reasonably price and holds up pretty well.

From everything I've read the spinfisher is higher quality than the battle is. I'm not looking for the best just a good reel that will last me. I take good care of things I own. Gonna go put one n my hands but wondering if 4500s would be a good size.

4500 is okay but you could go smaller using braided lines.

Agreed. Shimano is by far the smoothest reel I have ever used.

For what it's worth, I've got about 115 in the rod. Amazon has them for around 85 with prime. Leaning towards the spinfisher V 3500 as Amazon has them for 99. Gonna go over to port st Lucie when I get a free evening and and put reels on the rod and see how they feel.

Went with the spinfisher v 3500. Really a nice setup. Haven't put a hook in a fish yet but a great casting setups. I will likely use it for bass fishing too with carolina rigs.
