08 you should have been with me 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Cards clogged the system, and check out line. Keep your cards.

Didn't know. Outback, move over so I can get into the buggy and scream "Wolverines!" with you.

I have said it before, if I have cash than I am much more likely to spend it all much quicker than using a credit or debit card. If I have cash sitting in my wallet then I want to spend it. I hate to swipe my card and see that money withdrawn from my account. I have always been like that. I use my credit card and pay it off each month and get the cash back. I am 22 years old and have a house of my own and am not turning away free money. I have been doing that since 18 and have built up an amazing credit score which paid off when getting into my new house with a great interest rate. I also don't carry a lot of credit card debt, only what I can handle. I know its easier said then done, but having bills has helped me remain well disciplined.

Credit card for gas only. Debit card for most everything else. Only write checks for a few bills. i bank with a smaller bank, they seem to have pretty good security for debit cards, but I don't have any experience with the big banks.

Young guy came in wife's business last week. I've known him since he was a kid. When time to pay he pulled out a check book. I mentioned it was the first time I'd seen anyone his age (30ish) use a checkbook. Told me he'd worked the last ten years or so in banking security handling fraud and internet theft. Said based on what he deals with daily he'd never use a debit card and rarely use a credit card.

It will be interesting when our governments tries to eliminate the use of cash, "because no one uses it anymore..."

Once cash is eliminated the government can track everything you earn and everything you spend. Not trying to sound to "tin foil hat" or anything , but it's true.

Once that is done, try to buy something at a garage sale or buy a vehicle cheap, and flip it for a little profit? It will all be taxed then.

central ala,
I can't understand people telling me the correct way to spend my money. I have a credit score of zero. Doesn't bother me. Have never owned a credit and that seems to bother others more than me. 1.5% back on a credit card?? Where does that money come from? Credit card co. let participants cut into their profits? Don't think so. Its YOUR money they been using interest free. Just like an income tax return. I have no need for one.

Same here. If I have a credit score I don't know what it is. Same about a tax refund. I pay Uncle Sam in April. Have nothing taken out all year. I do use a credit card but pay it off monthly.

The merchants pay the cost. They are charged a higher rate by Visa/MC/Discover to take a rewards card. A lot of merchants aren't even aware of that fact and their processing company puts it in fine print because they don't want the merchant to know. Ultimately, the cost gets passed back to the consumer as do all operating cost.

Yes, I was aware of that also. Any way you cut it though it is your money someone has been using interest free. This is not uncommon though in the business world but done in different ways.
