"Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted," the bill states.

Good for him. Written in a language the average man can read; Opening the insurance market through a backdoor; kind of like the legalization of marijuana out west. At least, that's my interpretation of it. Let's see how the Feds enforce it...

Oh no, we can't do that. It has to be complicated and everyone has to be covered. Mo better get ready for the wrath of Trump and Ryan.

It's a shame we don't have more people in DC like Mo who are willing to take a principled stand against government overreach. I'm glad he's my representative.

Diane: Am I interrupting something important?

Ron Swanson: Impossible. I work for the government.

I wish he were mine. He's one of the few that seem to have a pair. Gary Palmer, my Representative, did the DC two step after meeting with the Donald and changed his vote to yes. Nobody has a spine in the DC cesspool.

That bill is just as good as the one that just failed because it would suffer the same exact fate.

The Republicans voted over 60 times for a full repeal of the ACA while Obama was in office. Now that they own every branch of government they, nor the president who campaigned on full repeal, want to do it now. No one is accountable because they know they can say whatever they want but voters don't actually expect them to do what they promise.

The problem is, the ACA has to be dismantled meticulously. Obama knew what he was doing when he built this mess. Him and his cronies built this so that it couldn't be repealed with the flip of the switch. If you repeal without replacing, a lot of businesses and hospitals will shut down because their lifeblood is the funds from the ACA.

So the house should just pass this bill by Mo to make a point even though it has no chance of making it thru the Senate?? That'll show em!!

As long as they try to cover everyone it will remain complicated and expensive.

That is telling...and truly sad.

No, Trump, Ryan and all the other Republicans should continue trying to give us a bad bill because we really don't expect them to do what they promised, which is full repeal. We will applaud anything they give us because they are Republicans. That'll show em.

Exactly.

To "cover everyone" is impossible - and means more Big Government and more redistribution of the wealth.

People under 30 simply don't want to pay for policies that they do not need. They only need a major medical hospital/surgery policy.

And imo the folks who refuse to pay for themselves are not entitled morally, ethically or constitutionally to have the 50% of people who actually pay *net* federal income taxes to pay for their private health policy (or federal exchange policy).

I think that in terms of the working poor or welfare abuser poor, maybe, and this is just an idea here, let them *buy* into Medicaid coverage. There could be a income formula for that in terms of eligibility and monthly "premium" and, walla, they are "covered".

That would be better then the Obamacare-lite RINO proposal for dang sure.
