Well guys i pulled the trigger last week and purchased a boat. Im not looking for anyones hotspot, but can anyone tell me where there is some grass to fish on lay this time of year? Ive heard about peckerwood creek and a few other spots. I will be launching @ paradise or beeswax this weekend. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Lay lake has grass from one end to the other. Just put the boat in and put the trolling motor down

if you are looking to catch fish on lay ( Spots) look up a shaky head set up and use natural colored finesse worm and you will catch fish average 2 lbs. I used to fish lay 3 times a week till I had my little ones and now it is monthly but no complaints, but back to the subject if I was having a tough day that was my go to. I had caught a 7.5 large mouth in waxahatchee on that setup but mostly small spots.

Beeswax should be packed Saturday morning. We are putting out of there as will several other tournaments. One can do well just staying in. Res wax all day and fishing the grass in there.

Launch at lacoosa or paradise point and start fishing. Should not be many boats at either one to deal with there.

Lay has channel markers now so navigating is fairly simple compared to many many years ago

Is it lay lake that if you launch out of beeswax and you go left of the ramp then there's a bridge? If so there's a road bed on the other side of that bridge and if you throw a rattle trap down it. I tore them up one year in a tournament. I'm pretty sure it's lay lake that I'm thinking of. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I would definitely launch at paradise. The boat houses in the slough and the grass is always good. Also, the upstream point is rocky and usually holds fish if the current is good. If you shoot straight across the main channel, there a pair of coves. Drag a Carolina rigged paca or a jig over the hump at the mouth of the downstream cove. The channel marker just down stream from paradise is a good place to look for schooling spots. Grass is great all around there.

No worries. Lay is a 12 month flipping lake. Find grass and run the trolling batteries dead. I usually get out a 7,3-7,6 Medium Heavy flipping stick out and tie on a 1/2oz tungsten flipping weight to a 3/0 Trokar flipping hook(snell knot), and put a sprayed grass sweet beaver on it. Pitch into grass about a foot past grass line. Watch the line. They will pick it up and head toward the boat. Fast reel helps pick up the slack.

It took 16 pounds to win our club tourney Saturday. Guy also had the big fish of the tourney with a 6 pounder. I got second with 13 pounds (just couldn't catch a kicker). Winner said he caught his early on a ribbit frog and then culled as the day went along with a swim jig. I caught all mine flipping on the lower end. Most aggressive flipping bite I've ever had on Lay. They were trying to take the rod out of my hand. It was awesome.

Didnt swing any into the boat, but missed a few fish. Didnt seem to like what i was throwing. I changed baits a few times, but just couldnt get it done. I fished relatively close to the launch so i could feel my way around the area. Looking forward to getting back out there this weekend.

Paradise? Beeswax was pretty crowded, but not a total zoo. I did have some IDIOT pass me at blastoff in the sharp curve coming out of Besswax. Moron.

Public launch down river off co rd 400. There was a decent amount of folks there, but not too bad.

They were likely on bed and trying to get the bug out of their beds
