Went this afternoon no crappie to be found. I don't get it.

Upper or Lower end? I grew up on LM (Pell City). Next month should bust wide open.

I fished in blue eye today. Trolled for 2 hrs. Not 1 crappie. The water is surprisingly clear for that place.

I could give you some good spots but my dad would come up out the grave and get me. Them crappie are some dang finicky fish. There one min gone the next.

With 73,248 campers along the banks, I'm surprised Blue Eye isn't practically void of Crappie by now. My Daddy used to keep a Pontoon in a slip at the old 78 Boat Dock (Where Sunset Cove is now). All he did as far as outdoor sports was Crappie fish. He passed away several years ago and I would pass lot's of good Crappie water to get there so I don't plan to fish it now. Send me a PM and I'll pass along a few of his spots to you if you're interested. I reckon it would feel good to know that someone was still hitting those spots and hopefully catching some slabs.

Is the water up yet? It can be tough until it does.

My buddy who use to wear them out every weekend from march thru october has been having a hard time getting good numbers too. I really dont think he's had a limit but once or twice the last two years. He does catch some huge slabs but just not numbers anymore. He swears its the spider riggers who have about wiped them out.
