My project for the day was installing tv antenna in attic.
Before on rabbit ears we got two channels with new antenna 44 local channels.

The hardest part was moving 40 years of stuff around in attic.

Does something like that run to a ground rod or anything? Seems like a good lightning rod.

It's not grounded. Totally in attic.

That what the scan said. There are are a few repets, 33/40 from a couple different places.

How did you get the cable from antennae down to where the tv is? Run down through the walls and fish it out through an outlet?

Got it from Amazon.

I ran thru closet to basement. Then split to our 2 TVs.

Because 70 year old men don't need to be on roof.

Did the exact same thing 8 years ago. My friends were like you will get nothing, it has to be outdoors. Surprise.

I did the same in our last house, bought a small rca antenna from amazon based on some antenna guru's design. Works great, about 42 channels easy to mount in attic. My new house has a metal roof so i am expecting issues inside however i will try inside before i punch a hole to the outside.

As far as connecting to the tvs, it is coax so just unscrew the old cable/sat feed and screw in the antenna. Worked like a champ.

I wonder if it matters if you have a metal roof?

Sure does, But it depends how far you are from the tower.

Check this out. Put your address in and it will tell you both analog and digital signals you could receive.
