Good looking gardens. Maggie you sure have a green thumb, I think you could grow tomatoes on concrete!

Thanks gang; we have been busy with these gardens and beds! The harvest is just now really going strong and we are all enjoying it and sharing with many friends and neighbors.

Thank goodness the yellow squash has slowed a bit.....I was running out of folks who would take it!! Butternut and spaghetti squash are now coming in!! Going to have the first spaghetti squash tonight.

All my squash is done. The stilts on my corn are almost totally Brown. Looks like I'll be pickin, shuckin and creaming corn all weekend rather than fishing. I ate my first mater samitch of the year. I have the best looking tomato plants I've ever had this year and it looks like I will get a watermelon by the 4th of july for the first time ever.

Ohhhhhhh...I am so jealous!! Our corn is not near ready yet!! Tomatoes, on the other hand abound. My watermelons are just not doing a whole heck of a lot -- plants are growing a bit but just ain't right. I don't think they get enough sun....

Just had to replant my corn and beans mad. The storms this past week dropped a limb on my goat pin and they had a hay day. Oh well part of living on a "farm" rofl

Oh man; that sucks. Good thing you have plenty of time for another crop. Those dang winds did a job on my raised octagon flower bed and knocked two of my steakhouse tomato plants down.. not sure they are going to recover but I have several others.

Good luck with the new crop!

Well, the corn is laying flat after that storm. Good thing it was pretty much ready & pulling will commence tomorrow. Might need waders to get in the garden though. Lots of maintenance work needed with things blown around. Me, I am a bit tired of the rain....need a little sunshine.

9 quarts done and 6 more processing...trying to get all we can from the garden!!

Those storms did some damage!! Picking corn Monday after things dry out a bit with this sun and light wind.

Maggie, have you ever done any vegetable ferments? I was hoping that you had some recipes to share.

I love canned tomatoes too and those look great!

Nothing other than sauerkraut hon...I do can, but the fermenting business has not been one of my things to do. Probably should look into it more though.

The storms blew down about 1/3 of my corn. It should be ready to pick in about week.

Thanks for the picture. Do you have any weights to go in it, or did you use something else?

That kraut churn or crock that I borrowed from my sis in law costs too much for me to buy one. I can't see paying nearly $150 for a pot. It's fancy though. Has weights that go on top of the cabbage and has a rim around the lid that you fill with water to keep oxygen and flies out.
