First day in the woods this year. Parked at gate around 5:15. Guarded spot for 30 minutes before I hiked in. One gobbled two ridges over - I made my move. Got in position and he was already on the ground. Gave him 5 soft yelps and he cut me off. Had him at 15 yards within 5 minutes. Real good public gob-has some hooks

Heard 0 from the roost. Got one going at 8:30. Called him to 35 yards, but had a blown down tree in between us. He never gave me a clear shot. After about 20 seconds of looking for me, he figured out something wasn't right and walked off. I gave him about 20 minutes and backed out. Didn't want to bump him.

First day in the woods for me. I'm in Macon County and haven'rlt heard a peep all day. I'm not even seeing any turkey tracks.

Not many gobbles this morning but enough to watch a couple die:). Me and a buddy set up at daylight on a place where we know there are turkeys. No gobbles on the limb but managed to get one going once he was on the ground. I killed him at 7:00. We then got breakfast and headed to another place and started walking and calling. Finally got one to answer around 10:45 and he came in with 3 more and my buddy killed him around 11:30. 2 fun hunts for our first hunt this year. Hoping they will want to play again tomorrow.
