just seen this add on craigslist. there are 2 rules they have that are just strange to me. 1st. I read it that dues do not include turkey or hog hunting. WTH? I don`t understand the hog part unless they fear that hunting them will increase pressure on deer during season or increase pressure on hogs and hurt their trapping efforts. 2nd. a set minimum weight limit on bucks I`ve never seen this before and not sure I understand the thought behind it. old deer need killing too. why not just set a minimum age? yes I know they can do what they want at their club. the 6 point in the pics is pretty nice by the way. https://mobile.craigslist.org/spo/6018310649.html

The problem with weight requirements for us would be that we've killed some really old bucks that towards the end of the rut are struggling to make 150 lbs.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

EHH, I'm not sure if you were a member over on the Mississippi site, but if so, surely you remember the Battle of Raymond Hunting Club rules fiasco from over there from a few years ago and the videos that were made. I laugh so hard I cry at those. If anyone is looking to kill an hour, google Battle of Raymond Hunting Club and check out some of the threads from bullnettlenews.com.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

Looks to me like a pretty decent way for a club to set buck restrictions:
>>>At least 4 on one side, OR 14.5in wide, OR, 160lb minimum.<<<
In my area, that would make most 3.5 yr old deer within the rules to shoot. The 4 on one side option would make a few 2.5 yr olds within the rules.

The problem with weight requirements for us would be that we've killed some really old bucks that towards the end of the rut are struggling to make 150 lbs. I killed 2 like that this year. I wanted the jawbone because they were small and I was sure they were over 2.5. Both 150 lbs and killed in Feb, one was 3.5 the other 4.5. They were both short-body and short-neck bucks, not the long-body which obviously look and are heavier (bigger).

I think it means no turkey rights, and there are no hogs on the property. I hunted that area years ago and there were no hogs. The antler and weight restrictions look pretty normal to me, actually better than most. You may be right. I just looked at their photos on Facebook and didn't see any pig pics. Turns out I know one of their members too.

On the turkey rights either a couple of them have the turkey right reserved, or they probably sell the turkey rights to one person.
Ive seen turkey rights go for 2 or 3 times more than what a clubs deer memberships are. I dont hunt turkeys so if I ran a club and could eliminate 2 or 3 deer hunters for selling turkey rights to one person Id do it.

Why would anyone want to shoot spikes? Surely there are a few knot heads running around there. Much more tender and easier to drag too.
