I plant Pensacola Bahia on roads when we build one. Good root system that establishes quickly and it is tough grass. You could put a little ryegrass or something with it till it gets warmer, I like to cover fresh seeds with a little hay, especially on the berms and turnouts. X2

What would be a good seed for planting on shaded roads? Like through a pine plantation?
I know #57 stone would be best, but I was hoping for something cheaper...
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

$155 plus shipping for a mixture of bahia, bermuda and browntop millet, I don't think so. And shipping is around $35 per 50lbs.

Dang that's high. I bought some a year or two ago for some roads and I think it was less than $50 or somewhere there abouts. Bermuda was the one that was crazy expensive when I checked.
