I'm here! I'll be hunting in Bibb, Macon, and Lee counties. I hope to get atleast 3 to enter in the competition!

Mostly Barbour and Marion counties in Alabama. Going to Missouri and Nebraska. Maybe I van come across a few that want to die.

CC I know you do a lot of filming. Do you have plenty of turkeys to film or would you be interested in filming some hunts for teammates?

just depends on what I have lined up. If it isn't too far I'll film no problem. Only demand is I carry my gun just in case yours misfires.

Just got a report from my brother. Heard 4 different birds this morning.

My dad took my little sister this morning got on a bird and he was bad Henned up. He said heard 2 others.

Same here. If the weather was perfect I maybe could've gone Wednesday but not gonna brave the frigid temperatures

Checking in here guys. Wont be able to hunt opening morning and haven't been able to listen. Hopefully the land I usually hunt wont fall through but I should be good for a least one bird. Ive never considered myself a turkey slayer but I did kill 2 last year. Ill do my best to contribute

I hunted. Did hear anything this morning.

Went this evening and watched one for 2 hours strutting. Just couldn't get a clear shot. Hopefully we will dance again tomorrow morning. He roosted about 100 yards from me. He gobbled 5 or 6 times this evening.

Good deal man I hope you get him. I'll be after them all day Sunday and Monday can't wait.

Alright man. I have some bad news. Got the call today that I have lost my turkey land. Not sure what I am going to do this late in the game. Maybe something will turn up.

How the heck do you lose your turkey lease on the second day of the season?

Checking in, here I am! Hunt the border of Chilton/Autauga counties. May get to hunt in MS this year. Have an invite from a pal, but dunno if we can get our schedules together. Also have a spot in KS that I have permission to hunt, but not sure if I will be able to get out there this year.

Will not be able to get in the woods until the weekend of 3/25.

Took my son this morning and had two birds wearing it out till 8 and wouldn't fly down. We was pinned down and couldn't move or call. They hit the ground and left.

Have had jakes in my decoys everyday so far. Yesterday afternoon had a gobbler hang up at 80 yds.

Good luck to whoever is hunting I'll be in the woods all day tomorrow and most of the day Monday!

Well the weekend is almost over. Got one more morning to hunt. Got close to two more this morning. But they flew down and left with hens.

On the way home.
First two days no gobbling other than the one I killed. I got him to gobbled about 5 or 6 times going to roost.

Third day heard a bunch of birds sat under 2 and was working them when mister green jeans came walking up. So he ran them off.

Fourth day heard maybe 8 birds. 2 of them close by. Set up. Never heard them after about 8. Set in there till about it 10. Had the kids so didn't want to wait him out much farther.

Today I wasn't feeling so hot. Slept in. Buddy heard a pile of birds, had a close encounter with one. Birds gobbled till about 10.

I go back to work tomorrow for two days then off for four more.

Guy calls me and says the owner is letting his daughter and bf hunt it this year and no one else could hunt it. chit happens I guess. Ive had this place for six years. Never had any problems

Real slow start for me in Bibb Co. Heard 4 gobbles on both Saturday and Sunday had a gob hang up at 70-80yds both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Could never close the deal. Come on next weekend!

Went Saturday with a friend to his land. Had a bird working pretty well, was double and triple gobbling, and ended up being in a clear cut on the neighbors property and wouldn't budge. Maybe we will catch him on the property soon

Hunted public land Thursday morning and this morning. Heard a Jake gobble 3 times about noon today. I sat on him a little bit but bailed out cause I had had enough by that time.

Unfortunately, I didn't hear a single gobble on Saturday morning. Didn't even see a gobbler in the usual pastures and fields. Very strange. Did see two hens later in the morning. Tough hunt, very discouraging. Oh well, I get to go back after then next Saturday.

Congrats on the birds fellas. I haven't had any more luck. Battled with a stomach bug most of the week. Maybe next time.

Had a invite to some primo land for tomorrow morning but he's having to work instead so I'll be headed to public land again, oh boy!

Went this morning with a buddy and heard one. Gobbled twice on the limb and nothing. Only the second time I've gotten an invite and still cant find any land to lease. Congrats on all the kills thus far.

Went to kentucky this weekend for the youth hunt with my son. He got one Saturday morning. Got close yesterday and watched one strutting for a hour. Just couldn't make it happen. Had to get back home and left him gobbling at 230 yesterday evening

My wife has the flu but if she get well enough for me to go to the family farm this weekend I'm heading out. Didn't have much action opening weekend there but this should be a prime weekend. I'm already looking forward to, hope it works out!

Hunted with a buddy on Saturday to try and call up a bird for him. We heard 4 different gobs, saw a hen, but did not get any gobblers into gun range for him.

Got a call from KS land owner asking if I would come on out this year. Wants me to get rid of some of those dang turkeys. Seems they are in his way, lol. Trying to figure out how I can go help him out.

So I checked cameras at the farm yesterday. Only had 2 cameras out but has atleast 3 different gobblers. Not many pics of them but atleast I know there're there. Here's a few pics for y'all just because I have them.

I think I killed the bird in the first pic today at 3pm. Makes #2 on the year. Maybe I'll get one more for the competition.

Found another one! Hes been in this cutover 3 mornings last week. Hope to get a chance at him before someone else does.

I have 1. Its been the worst year I've ever had. My birds have never stayed henned up this long.

I have only gotten two this year. I haven't posted my second as I fully expected to upgrade. I still have the pictures and been hunting every chance but just seem to get my act together.

Got #3 Saturday morning. He was the biggest turkey I've killed and my first double beard! It was Also the earliest I've ever killed one. He was dead at 6:02'

Thanks jlbuc10. Congrats on your 3 birds! Just one for me this season, just too little time to get in the woods much. But our birds were TUFF this year. Out of the 4 turkey hunters on our club, I am the only one to get a bird. The 3 other guys got zeroed this season. This was the longest shot I ever attempted on a gobbler. Smoked him with TSS outta my 20 gauge Benelli M2. Went back later with my ranger finder: 51 yards.

Nice bird and congrats. I called in two kills in the last week but that's all the game I had. Leaving for Missouri Monday then going to slide up to Nebraska a few days.

Good luck out west! Hopefully you'll get us one with about 7 beards! I called one in Saturday for a young lady that whooped my poor funky chicken and she missed at 20yds! One other guy army crawled with a fan one up to 5 steps and shot him. His first ever on his own. Pretty cool story got to hear him shoot from the cabin porch

Unfortunately, looks like I am done for the season. Not going to be able to make the trip to KS this year. The time and $$ are just not there to make it happen. Sorry I didn't contributed more to the team. Best to luck to those guys who are still after them!

I'm done now and headed home. Missouri got flooded and moved all our birds so we cut it short and headed on to Nebraska. We all got our 3 apiece. I got one small double beard and buddy got one triple beard. Had fun
