Well, I hate to admit it, but we don't have a snowball's chance in hell fellas. Being dead in the water before it even starts sux, but it happens...just luck of the draw. Regardless, I hope and pray we all get the opportunity to get out there a bunch, enjoy ourselves, and kill some turkeys! Any name works for me. Just ready for the most wonderful time of the year!

I like cutting and strutting. I'm ready to do this thing! I called up a single strutter for my son Saturday morning and he didnt get to kill him. I believe I will start with him on Wednesday. Looking forward to it! I'm cautiously optimistic. We had a ton of jakes up this way last year.

In AL I'm hunting Crenshaw and Holmes in FL which is a short season and 1 turkey only. Next year it looks like Holmes county will be a full FL season and bag limit. For years there was no hunting in Holmes then the turkeys came back and season started at 3 days. Then it increased to 10 and this year it goes from 3/18-4/3 or 4/5 I believe. It will be nice to have full season again next year. Lots of birds.

I would pick on you about the miss but I'm scared of what might happen the next time I shoot LOL.

Killed #2 this morning. Quick but fun hunt. No measurements yet but I'll get them. Prob a 3yr old; got a pretty good beard though and a heavy bird.

Hope y'all getting to go some! Blessing just to be in the woods!

Wise man. However, you might already be jinxed for even thinking it. I will pray that isn't the case since you are my teammate. laugh

Congrats again bro! I think we're the only ones hunting? Or at least the only ones checking in!

I killed one Sunday morning. I think it is a 3 yr old called up six had my hopes on a boss but three gobblers got within 25 yds and one had to die. I will post pics and score later but he was 16.5 lbs inch spurs and 9 1/4 beard.

I know the feeling. Used to be that way for me in Winston Co but I finally managed to pick up some other leases over the past few years and don't have to wait any more. I've been very fortunate this year getting to see some birds die, but only 2 have been mine. I've been blessed to have some very fun hunts; I hope and pray it continues. I only had 1.5 hour to hunt today but took a chance and went and I'm glad I did; it only took about 25 minutes:).

Congrats Jcap!!

Hey guys I have been moving but settled in now.I have been3 times so far.the first hunt I had 3 gobbling good' but we're on the neighbors property.pretty sure they have them baited.some new people bought the joiningredients land' in deer season they kept 5 barells of corn in there truck.the 2 ND hunt should have killed a goodun. But I set up before daylight' never heard a bird gobble or even a hen.I stood up to go pick up my decoy and saw a hen run off to my left'I heard another putting and a big gobbler walks right behind the other hen and I had to shoot left handed and missed.they were just over a turkey were I could not see.and the 3 hunt was a disaster.I went to another track of land when I got were I wanted I looked up and someone had stolen a brand new Silverado and stripped it.I'm glad I didn't walk up on them 'there were pill bottles bullets 9 mm 'rubber cloves 'coveralls all kind of stuff there I had to call it in and about 5 detectives came out.they ran the vendor number it was from montgomery and had been stolen 2 days ago. That could have been a bad outcome.it shook me up pretty bad.either I would had to shoot them or worse them me.You never know what you will Valk up on today.

Guy,s I let us down terribe this morning.
I WENT to were i saw and missed the turkeys last week. I knew the birds had to be close to that spot.I got set up no decoy,s waiting to hear a
turkey gobble. Then a whole bunch of cows showed up raisein cain,so I moved on down acouple humdred yards .By that tiime it was daylight.so I yelped a couple of times boom a gobble less than a 100 yards.so I stayed there calling and a lone hen started yelping.so I did every call she made .But I didnt hear the gobbler no more.So I tought she may have him in another little feild. So I walked around the corner and she was in the feild had heard a gobbler close by herself. So she busted me meanwhile I heard another turkey gobbleling near wear i parked my truck. So I headed back toward my truck.I got to about 200 yards from my truck and yelped boom a double gobble. So I got set up and it was 2 longbeards, I clucked a couple of times and they came a rumming. They got to obbleabout 30 yards and stoped and started struting and gobbleing. So I. Clucked and here they came.both had 10 to 11 inch brards.so when they came on the log road I shot the lead bird. That
Bitd was 20 yards and flew srait Up in the air.wereI was. Sitting I couldnt see were it went.but the other bird ran out about 70 yaarfs and. Started stuting and gobbleing and finally wondered off. I need a newer gun.mine only shoots 2 and three quarer shells.

I havent posted either of mine yet but I will. I usually wait til later to see if I get 3 for sure and only post the best ones if I'm fortunate enough to get more than 3. I will go ahead and post em if yall want to keep our score current though.

Same here. I haven't posted mine yet. One is in the 60s and one is in the 50s. I will post them up later.

Well guys im ashamed to say i missed 2 more gobblers this week thats 4 total, the futherest one has been 35 yards.I have called in 4 long beards in 5 hunts but yet to kill one.I sold my turkey gun last year to buy a good dove gun. Boy that was a mistake.last year turkey hunting wasnt that great.so I traded my 870 pump with turkey chokes o have a for this 20 gauge automatic. 100 year old mossberg pump but they both shoot 2 and3/4 shells. I have killed several turkeys with the 12 gauge.but this year have missed 2 at 25 yards.so I changed to the 20 gauge same thing .im shooting number 5 shot.I cant figure it out.I called one in about 250 yards yesterday to 20 yards and still missed.sorry guys, mabey soon i can figurer it out.

There are 3 things I never go cheap on toilet paper, garbage bags, and turkey shells after learning from experience on all 3. The amount of work and dedication it takes to kill a turkey in my opinion you should buy some of the more expensive shells. Winchester long beards or mag blends would be two options. What kind of shells are you shooting if I had to guess cheapest you can find and you get what you pay for. If you are trying to save money spend less on other supplies and get some quality shells seems like you would already know this if you are usually good for the limit. I would rather hunt in a suit and tie with no calls and quality shells than have the cheapest shell I could find with turkey load stamped on the box. One of the worst feelings for a turkey hunter is calling in a bird only to watch him fly off after shooting and questioning if he will live another day.

Hunted for 2 weeks and nothing in FL. Bobcats ran off the ones they didn't eat. Had some gobbles in AL but couldn't close deal on very windy days I was hunting.
