I'll be hunting Baldwin County. Maybe some in Florida (northwest Florida). I've been keeping up with aldeer for sometime. Just joined not long ago. Where y'all gonna be hunting?

It's a thought...I'm new to the forum contest. How many of yall participated last year? I've been turkey hunting a long time...Experienced on Public Land in Bama and Florida. Should have a good year. Looking forward to learning more about you guys and sharing hunts.

Killed 4 Last year, with a good may to spare on camera, so hoping for some of the same results this year.

I'll be hunting Marion, Fayette and Lamar Counties. Then possibly NE, KS, and/or OK.

Man that's awesome to hear y'all going out of state to hunt. I will one day. I keep saying I'd love to go for an Osceola one year. I'd also like to hunt Missouri, MS, and GA. Always have hunted NW Florida and Southwest Alabama.

Work is a little hectic this week. Thought I would get off for opening day, but looks like I will be working some late nights to try and get back to hunt Thursday, Friday Saturday.

I will keep you guys updated.

I'm going this Friday-Wednesday. Work Thur and Friday morning next week and get back on them sat-Monday.

Team name is good with me. So far I've only heard 1, he gobbled 3 times, across property line in MS. Gonna lay with it a little longer then off to work.

I heard one. He gobbled early and a long way off. By the time I got around to him he went silent. Wind started howling, freezing, and they were logging across the creek on neighboring property. Well, hopefully tomorrow will be better. I'm glad I heard one.

I'm back out here hopefully I'll get on a vocal bird this morning. I'm hunting with my new 28 gauge maybe I'll luck up and break the ice with it.

I'm headed to the woods now until - Tuesday. Hope it gets cranked up with a warm afternoon

Killed a decent 2 yr old this past weekend. He put on a show gobbling about 150 times. Took a complete 180 from the two days before.

Nice! I got whipped his morning. Got on a gobbler with hens and stayed on him from roost until 2:30. Never got him closer than 80 yards.

I heard one gobbling a mile away on another property. I know we have birds, I just haven't been on them or vice versa. I called up 3 jakes yesterday. This morning was picture perfect and I heard 2.

Our birds on our lease haven't been gobbling much. I'm just going to have to change my game plan and keep hunting. I've usually had the opportunity to break the ice by now. Needless to say, it's just been one of those seasons for me. It's still early. I'm keeping at it.

Stick with it. I'm out of the game until this weekend..... It's only going to get better

Agree. I've killed countless birds the first three weeks of April. It's about to get right.

Had them fired up Saturday and Sunday, but had to leave but hunts early due to prior obligations. Was not able to separate them from hens before I left. I will hit it hard this coming weekend and hopefully knock one or two down.

I'll be back in the woods fri-sun. Then out west hunting until the end of May every weekend. I didn't hear anything Saturday. Changed locations in national forest about 10 miles and they were tearing it up.

Just getting down. Ready to hunt the next two days. Should be perfect conditions. Good luck y'all

Well so far I have been no help, I have only heard 3 gobbles this year, we have plenty of turkeys but I just haven't been able to get on one that will act right, I hope they loose the lock jaw by this weekend...

I doubled up with a buddy in GA this past weekend. Heaviest bird I have killed to date. Whopping 25.2 lbs.... His weighed 23 lbs. Cannot imagine what they were weighing in March.
