Where's everybody hunting? I've got a jam up lease in Barbour county, but won't be able to make it down there much. Just found out I'm being shipped out to Tennessee on Monday to run a couple of jobs. It's going to really put a dent in my plans since that's 6 hours from my Barbour land. The positive is that I'll be 2 hours from a place I really like to hunt in Kentucky. So I'll likely go up there once or twice. May slip over to a wma in TN that I've hunted a time or two as well. Hope I can pull my weight.

I'm here fellers. Looking forward to this turkeyseason my favorite time of the year. Maybe I can help us out with a couple birds this year. I hunt Pickens Greene Hale and Tuscaloosa County and headed to Kansas

Hunting Pickens county and Sumter county Got a few north Alabama spots and headed to Florida for a Osceola in a week

I'm taking my girlfriends son to a place I have outside of Bham. It's his first turkey hunt, so I don't have real high hopes, but you never know! Hope we just hear some gobbling.

Any names fine with me . I took my daughter on her first ever turkey hunt sat morning to some land I've never turkey hunted , basically a scouting trip with a long shot at a bird. We parked the 4 wheeler and before I could get my vest on good we had one goblin his head off few hundred yards away. We eased down the trail to set up on him and i started seeing birds in the tree tops all around us so we sat down . He had prob 8-10 hens roosting close To him and they all flew off about 2 ridges over so I've got his address and will be back for him.

Awesome! Looks like lancecaller and his son had some luck as well. We got on a bird gobbling decent, but were never really in the game because of a creek and property line.

Y'all pick a name and I'll try not to let y'all down. Work has been killing my hunting this year

Who's going in the morning? I'm going to attempt a quick hunt before work for the next few mornings but I don't have much room for error.

I was gonna go but am down with the flu.

you are right. but if I don't go he will be strutting back and forth in front where I would of been sitting.

I've gotta work in the morning but I get off at 2:30 and can be at the club by 3:15 so Im gonna go set up in a hardwood creek bottom and do a little calling and be patient. I really don't care much for afternoon hunts but it being opening day Im gonna give it a go. I plan on hunting Friday morning at the club then heading down to Florida to hunt Saturday and Sunday.

I won't be able to make it until Saturday. Work is about to kill me.

I'm going to a new place to try out. Don't know if they are gobbling up there yet we shall see. Good luck guys

I covered alot of ground this afternoon glassing some places I can see along way, and walking roads blind calling trying to strike something up. I made it all the way to the back of our property where we have a small greenfield. My plan was to set up on field and call for about a hour then start heading back. I crawled up to check the field and I spotted a hen in it. Decided If I could crawl another 10-15 yards there was a nice pine tree to set up on and I had a shot to the field if a longbeard showed up, maybe 40-50 yards to field witch is little farther than Id like but it was my best bet. I slowly made it to tree and got setup and started calling and got a few hens fired up and low and behold one gobbled about 75-80 yards off to my right. I knew he was with a hen because she was yelping right where I heard him gobble. I kept calling and after getting her really pissed she appeared in the field with the other hen Id been watching. about 5 minutes later He showed up in my lane to the field in full strut and I didn't waste any time pulling the trigger.

Sounds like a fun hunt! I froze my azz off on a job site in tn all day, I'm envious.

Had em fired up yesterday. They blew you woods up on the limb. After fly down the dominant Hen dragged the toms the other way but they were still gobblin their heads off at me. I ran around the back side of two huge ridges to get out in front of them (always a risk) I popped out literally right on top of a monster. He started running and rather than risk a Hail Mary parting shot I figured I would see if I could find the second bird....no luck.

I was excited house to come so close when I have never set foot on that property.

I killed a stud Osceola down in Florida. Haven't put a tape on him yet but he's by far best bird I've ever killed spurs are gonna be around 1 1/2" ! Im north bound and down headed back to Bama . I'll get some pics and story tonight or tomorrow

Got a Jake in SC yesterday. He was with a Gobbler and they took were literally in my lap when I lifted the gun the took off and crossed paths...I picked up the wrong bird after they came apart again. Oh well, it was fun!

Killed a good 3 bearded bird this afternoon.

Hope I don't disappoint y'all, but I've been limited to weekends. Slowest start I can remember. To top it off, my jam up place in Barbour is somewhat screwed, and I don't know if I'll be going back down there. So public land it is, probably throw in a couple hunts in tn, ky, ga, and potentially a brief trip to Nebraska though, so I'm still hopeful for 3 or more.

I been on gobbling birds last 2 mornings but Just can't get one in shotgun range. Think I've figured out where there flying down and heading but I gotta go back to work in the morning

had number two at 25yds this afternoon. Textbook hunt when I got down to Barbour county about lunch. Gobbled 3x. Last time he gobbled he was on my left so I flipped around to that side. He stepped out in the road about 5 minutes later exactly where I had been facing.

Anybody still out there chasing them. I had to take a couple of weeks off due to dad giving us a medical scare but I hope to get a couple of morning hunts in this week.

I am still after em pal,looking for an upgrade...I just haven't killed any older birds this year so far,but gonna go after em til I just can't!

I done in Alabama waiting till next week to head to Kansas.

Work screwed up most of my season this year , been working 6 days a week for the last 3 weeks . Looks like my season Is done. I ended up with 2 long beards so I can't complain

We killed our 6 birds and we are pointed back to Alabama. Not bad for about a day and a half worth of hunting freelance.
