Irish Setter vaportrek snakeboots, This will be the 3rd season wearing them. They are real comfortable, wear like a hiking boot but you got snake protection up close to your knee's. Only complaint is they leak water bad. I just bought some atsko water proofing spray and coated them real good.

Irish setter right now.
My hunting boots are always as tall as I can get, snake proof, and waterproof. To me, those are just necessary. I can't think of a time hunting in Alabama where I would want something different.

Same here, last pair was laid to rest last week after 17 turkey seasons, God rest their sole. Pun Intended. Got a new pair in bottom land. They were $39 bucks 17 years ago, $90 now.

do they remain waterproof, though? I really like the idea of those, but have read quite a few complaints about them leaking from the start. I currently wear the muck armors and they're really nice, but have always wanted a pair of Chippewas. Been happy with my Chippewas for the past few years

This will be my 4th season with Chippewas. My only complaint is the tread pattern is not very aggressive and what is there wears down too easily.

Been happy with my Chippewas for the past few years The first pair of Chippewas I bought remained waterproof for a good long while, but eventually they leaked. They were probably the best snakeboot I've bought so far, but once they started leaking, I pursued another boot -- which also started leaking... If it ain't rubber, eventually, it's gonna leak. And even rubber boots can develop cracks or you can job a hole in it (like I did my Muck's about 2 years ago), and then BAM, leaks... Unless you wear cement boots, I reckon there's always the possibility of leaks.

Too dang hot for rubber boots, for me. I'm on my third year of my pull on snake boots from Cabela's that were on clearance a few ago. I wished i would have bought 5 pair. I can still stand in a creek without getting wet and i wear them almost every day when i'm outside working. x2

I wear my Mucks in the morning in early season, and switch to more comfortable boots for the afternoon. I've got a pair of hybrid tennis shoe boots I wear a lot in later season. No way would I ever wear any uncomfortable snake boots. Snakes won't bother you if you don't mess with them, but plantar fasciitis is real.
