240 pounds ran a 4.51 forty yard dash...

From Bama Hammer...

Watching Fournette run a 40 yard dash in 4.51 seconds at the combine was a real treat for Bama fans because we haven't seen him run 40 yards in 3 years.

In my opinion, if he goes to a team with a decent offensive line he will be a perennial pro bowl RB. He is a freak.

I'd take Cook before Fournette. The guy seems to have ALOT of quit in him. .

He's a pansy arse quitter. I wouldn't draft him. NFL rbs don't have the value they used to have and they don't last but 3-5 years. Look at the rbs New England is winning with

LF has a lot of quit in him. Stop him a few times, early, and he's done.

I'll be the contrarian. I think LF7 will have a good NFL career. He is no Adrian Peterson but I bet he is a starting back and puts up good numbers. I agree with y'all though that there is no way I take him in the 1st round.

some of yall need to google his highlights from 2015. not sure if it's amnesia or just don't want to remember, but he feasted on sec competition on a regular basis.

some guys admittedly get timid when thinking about getting hurt vs. an nfl payout. whether the case or not, I agree with southwood.

It was cool to see him run the 40 yard dash. As a Bama fan, I'd never seen him run for 40 yards...

He just fathered another baby. LF4. These guys need to learn to be careful with that stuff. LSU has already made him an offer.

Longest runs of his career vs Bama were from the dressing room entrance to the sideline to start the game!

While we are talking about Fournette's size, speed and not wanting to play with a hurt ankle I'll throw out my reference point. Bo Jackson, 235 lbs. 4.19 40 and still trying to play pro baseball on an artificial hip. Plus he likes to bowhunt. Find me a back close to those standards and I'll be impressed.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Dunno bought the numbers but you wanna talk about hunting, Check out Deangelo Williams' twitter sometime. Dude is a straight up redneck.

EDIT: doesn't look like he's posted much hunting stuff recently, but at any rate, he's a big time hunter.

Not saying this because I'm an Alabama fan, but I've always seen the 4.19 number thrown around too, but then this week they say that the WR from Washington set the all time combine record at 4.22. Breaking Chris Johnsons 4.24

Did bo not do combine?

40 times at the combine were hand-timed until 1999. Add somewhere between .1 and .25 or so to Bo's time, and you'd get his true electronic time.

Research has proven that hand timing is always faster, and that the variation is between .1 and .25 seconds...with most right around the .2 of a second faster mark

Since '99, all times are electronic, and therefore "official".

Not much difference in 4.2 and 4.3 when a white boy running downhill at 6.0 is trying to catch you!!!

Correct, they don't recognize it as "official" but the old scouts will generally say it is the fastest they've ever seen.

Back when Bo ran, they have timed and they averaged 4 stop watches. The best of the 4 was 4.19. The others were higher.

The NFL doesn't recognize the hand timed 40s in the records. Deon Sanders is also supposed to have run a 4.19.
