Im a first year newbie but tried it for the ease of getting traps ready and in the ground quick! I put new traps in dishwasher and ran a cycle and then washed in acetone and dipped in the full metal jacket! Traps went in ground two days later and caught 7 coyotes and a bobcat in less than three weeks behind my house! The traps that i caught on were rusting when i pulled them! I just cleaned traps and dipped again in FMJ to move to another property! I plan to dye them next go around and may try the wax to see which i like better! The FMJ is definitely easy to use though!

I've tried Full Metal Jacket and Trap Cote. I wasn't impressed with either.

Dye and wax has held up better for me. Especially after traps are seasoned.
