Okay,
Some folks say that deer are not scared of hogs.
Did you have hogs spook deer from your hunting location this past deer season? If yes, how many times. How many times did the deer not spook from the location?

I saw a deer on one hunt this year that came out while 3 hogs were in the field. But the 3 pigs were laying real still, and I mean perfectly still.

How many times did the deer not spook from the location? multiple times I had deer in the field that got spooked and hauled ass. shortly after, porky and his buddies showed up. same results on game cams.

I have had hogs and deer in the same field just about ever time I sat on a field this year. I only had hogs run deer off 2 times this year and both times shortly after the hogs came out the deer returned. The main reason people say they run deer off is because as soon as a hog walks out they shoot the hog so the deer never have a chance to return to the field. I feel gun shoots pressure deer way more than a few hogs but to each his own. Not the case at all at either of my places

It is so common, that I just happen to have just gotten a pic from one of my cams with a hog and a deer in the same pic. Not a big deal at all.

Deer will eventually leave an area infested with hogs. Primarily because hogs suck up the acorn crop like a vacuum cleaner.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Deer will eventually leave an area infested with hogs. Primarily because hogs suck up the acorn crop like a vacuum cleaner. This has been my experience. We have a small lease near the local WMA and over the past 5 years at least one sounder has moved into the area and heavily utilized our lease especially the 35 or so acres of mature hardwoods and our food plots. Sightings were way down and we were starting to feel mixed about keeping the lease. This season was different; only saw a fairly young boar once or twice every month on camera. We think the drought helped and pushed them closer to the river. Also the biologist told me that an adjacent cattle farmer bought a high dollar trap. I haven't had the opportunity to stop and thank him for running the trap.

I have sold several traps up in that area. Good to hear that word is getting out on the effectiveness of the quality traps and more folks using them in my area. The hogs are bad along the river starting just west of Florence from 7 Mile Island all the way to the TN line. Plenty of farmers with quality farm land in between.

I have a few customers up there really kicking the pigs hard. All near 7 mile island.
