Waste of any steak for me if it's cooked past medium rare.
Of course, to me a filet is a waste of money anyways from a taste standpoint. Can't beat a ribeye when it comes to flavor.

I love a ribeye too. Rare of course.... Waste of any steak for me if it's cooked past medium rare.

Fiance likes hers well done, but she also likes non-fatty cuts, so I can buy her a crappy cut and burn the hell out of it, and spend more money on my cut to cook rare. It hurts me to do it, but allows me to afford nicer steaks for myself lol. You can't just set aside a piece of Kingsford for her before you start cooking? I'm a rare plus to medium rare depending on the quality of the steak.

When I worked in restaurants we hated it when someone ordered a well done filet for two reasons first it is just dumb and second it is close to impossible to cook a filet well done without burning it..
I love my steaks rare but my stomach won't let me eat one under medium anymore....
