I know there is a big price difference, but are they worth the price difference? I have never owned a pair of Chippewas and considering going with them this year.

I've owned mine for 4 years, they are comfortable and not a leak yet. I not only use mine for turkey hunting but I wear them cruising timber before I do understory burning and checking for cogon. So mine have some miles on them.
I've had a couple pairs of rocky, redhead, and lacrosse, 2 seasons is about all I could get before one of the boots would start leaking.

I have some Irish Setter VaperTrex they are decently comfortable but the water proofing is pretty pathetic. I do where mine 75% of deer season and all of Turkey season.

Chippewa.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I just bought some Chippewa snake boots that were on sale at Academy. They were $100 off. They were lighter and more comfortable than I expected. I'm not sure I'd drop $300 on them though.

I have Chippewa pull-on leather boots that I'm about to start working on to break in a little more. Also some Lacrosse Alpha4X snake boots. Both are good.

I lust after the leather Danner lace-up boots but don't need another pair.

This is true and the sad part is they use to be really good snake boots. Stay away from Redheads. Buddy ha a pair and the sole came off of one with less than 1 years use.

i had a pair of danner pronghorns that i wore out..great boots! i'm in my second year of irish setter vaporteks that are really light and comfortable. i usually treat them with a silicone spray treatment twice a year, depending on how much rain we have had. they are made by redwing.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I'm about 99% sure Chippewas are, and I remember seeing the card in the box when I bought them.

Chippewa for sure. Fit true to size and very comfortable...I bought mine off of Amazon and are briar/water/snake proof.

It's a sanctuary.

Chippewa is the way to go. Buy once, cry once. I'm going on I believe my 4th season on mine. Still no leaks.

This is the cheapest place I've seen.

Only the top of the line boots are made in the US by Justin. The mid to cheap Chippewa's are made in China like everything else.

BTW I really like my crappy Rocky snake boots... laugh

think about this- if the Chippewa's have a problem, they can be repaired. Most of the less expensive snake boots, even if a brand name, cant be repaired( leaks or soles coming loose). May be less expensive in long run.

My Danner pronghorns have been great. Takes a little while to lace them up and they're not 100% waterproof, but they are the most comfortable boots I own.

I've had Danner, Chippewa, and Russell's. Then Danner's are the lightest by far. They've held up ok. The Chippewa boots were tough but heck to break in. Then Russell's are as good as it gets when it comes to snake boots but they're pricey. But they are 100% American made and can be resoled, restitched, and repaired. So they'll outlast anything else you're gonna find. Plus they're custom built to your personal feet measurements so they feel great.

I'm a big legged feller and only tried one pair of snake boots and it was a bitch trying to get them things on and off. I found these and really like them!! And when your not in the woods and back at the truck you can easily take them off to cool down before going into another spot!!
