I saw 7 this afternoon. I Reid my damnedest to kill a doe and she was having none of it.

Maybe tomorrow.

Update: We called in a bloodhound, and he jumped my buck. We ran him for a few hours, but never could bay him up. We saw him once, he's on 3 legs. So I must've shot low. This stinks. I shot him while he was chasing a doe, but he wouldn't stop. Probably shouldn't have shot, but I've killed several other deer a farther distances in the same type situation. I'm sick.
I'm gonna keep corn & feed out until turkey season & hope that the coyotes don't get him.

Man I've hunted as hard as I ever have and can't see a deer. It's looking like Its gonna be the first time in 15 years I haven't killed a deer.... goose I've just seen this, if your offer stands this week I can leave work early tomorrow or Thursday.

I only saw 4 doe this morning, not sure where all our deer have gone. That draught killed our lover fields, so the herd may be looking for greener pastures. I'll be there tomorrow, good luck to anyone else trying one more time!! I'm starting to get excited to Turkey hunt now!!

I'm rdy for turkey. Bring the beretta a400 out this year...if it patterns as good as my 887 I'll be hunting with it. It's my duck gun but I haven't duck hunted in the last two years so it's just been sitting in the safe. Got to get some use out of a $1700 gun. Not to mention an auto would be nice. Will know next week how she does. Ordered a sumtoy today and Williams sights.

Redemption is sweet!!!!! My neighbor just called, he found my buck from last week!! Coyotes, buzzards & rats have had their full, but at least I'll get the antlers! I'll post pics later!! I'm one happy hunter!!

I shot this buck a week ago, we tracked it for about 400 yards all around the woods where I shot it. When I shot him, he was chasing a doe. It was a narrow window to shoot through, especially with him running, but I grew up running deer with dogs and felt good about the shot. When I saw the amount of blood, I was confident he was dead. I was shocked to find leg bone fragments at the site of the impact, which created doubt in my mind that I may have only wounded him. The blood trail went on and on and on!! We called in a bloodhound, who is a great dog but somehow this buck eluded him. I don't know how, but this is my buck, because the bone fragments are a perfect match! We gave up after the dog ran around with no luck. I was sick. But I figured everyone misses and these things happen. Well, today our neighbor called and said he found my buck. He and all of us were relieved when it turned out not to be the big 11 point we have on camera, but a big 8 point that we aren't sure but think we have only one picture of. I had jumped to the conclusion that it was our big Buck since in that few moments of seeing and shooting him, I knew there was lots of antler. But I was wrong. This buck was laying within about 100 yards of where we stopped trailing him. 300-350 yards from where I shot him. I hate that I didn't get to enjoy the harvest with a feast for my family, but to at least know I did kill him and to have his antlers is gonna have to be enough. I can't thank the good Lord or our neighbor enough! What a roller-coaster ride of emotions over the last week. Here's a few pics:

Well guys I hunted hard this season and just couldn't see the deer I normally see. I was blesssd to be able to kill a 8 pointer Tuesday evening. I got it posted up.

Great job Haybale! You stuck with it and ended up with a good buck & some seriously good eating!!

So our total points should be at 85. Which isn't the top spot, but it's really close! I enjoyed "hunting" with you guys! Have a great Turkey season!!

Well it was fun guys enjoyed being on a team with you guys sorry I couldn't ado a buck kill to the list. I ended up shooting two does the last weekend of season just couldn't bring myself to shooting my future studs seen a bunch of young bucks in Al and Ky let a ton of deer walk so maybe next year will be a great one! In better news bring on turkey season can't wait to hear that fiat gobble of the season and watch the he flop a short time after!
