Put your hands on a 1951 Winchester Model 70 in .300 H&H Magnum and gay doesn't cross your mind. Have a 1949 model. The steel butt plate on mine will get your attention when you pull the trigger. Barrel is inscribed with "300 MAGNUM". A lot of todays hunters would try to stick a 300 Win Mag cartridge in it, not knowing that the 300 WM wasn't introduced until 1963. Yep many don't know that. They started marking them 300 H&H in 1951. My uncle has one made in 1951 per serial number but still stamped 300 Magnum. Likely an early 1951 gun with a leftover barrel from the previous year.
