dang ive been there, 2 times actually. got both turkeys both times but I sacrificed a cell phone the first time an a whole roll of toilet paper the next. it was worth it.

That turkey liked to have gotten his last revenge. I wonder if anybody's ever been killed by a turkey?

Never had to go diving for one but I've taken off boots and pants many a time to cross a waist high creek to get to a gobbling bird.

I think he has posted that up on here in the last few months with a story with it as well. I've went swimming before and those spring time creeks ain't warm at all.

Heck I'm just trying to figure out which turkey he was shooting at. Half of his pellets went right by the bird on the right, but the bird on the left dropped.

Josh was shooting and was sitting to the camera's left. To this day, some still claim the turkey went into shock and drowned. He has a history of 'how did he kill that bird?' shots, so we're just glad the bird is dead.

That was early March and that river was super cold. Jared says when the bird got out in the current, he was going to go under and push off the bottom like in a swimming pool, but never touched the bottom. Easy to see how some people may get in a scary situation in water like that. This was the second time he jumped in after a bird. The first was a little more wild than this one, but there was no cameraman.

Never had to do it before. But would not hasitate. Well probly would throw the wallet, cell phone and turkey vest on the ground first.

Might be worth carrying a treble hook and line if you think you might be hunting near water? I guess you could technically end up turkey fishing.

The treble hook idea has been mentioned before, but in reality this has only happened twice in 30 years so it would be extra bulk and weight that probably wouldn't ever get used.

Plus, who else is going to entertain you guys this time of year?

Haha! Thanks man I appreciate that. Me and my brother spend the majority of the season hunting together and its hard to beat. Not much better than a good hunt with family.
