Orion are still the nicest of that style I've ever laid hands on. Very well thought out. Also very expensive. I don't have one, but have a buddy with several.

From the RTIC Facebook page:

RTIC IS VERY PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE AN AGREEMENT REACHED WITH YETI
RTIC, the leading direct to consumer online retailer of premium coolers and drinkware announces that it has entered into a settlement agreement with YETI today for the purpose of avoiding the additional costs and uncertainty of continued litigation. The dispute has been amicably resolved and as part of the agreement, RTIC has agreed to redesign only those products involved in the dispute.

As part of the Agreement, RTIC is precluded from commenting further, but RTIC is very pleased with the settlement and considers it a win.

RTIC had previously announced last month changes to its 2017 product lines and expects to rollout new products and updated existing products starting in early Spring. RTIC will continue to operate as normal selling all the RTIC brand of products as provided on the www.RTICcoolers.com website keeping true to its promise to deliver "Over Built – Not Over Priced" products to all its RTIC fans & customers.

About RTIC

RTIC is the leading direct to consumer online retailer of premium coolers and drinkware. It was founded by twin brothers John and Jim Jacobsen and has generated almost 1.5 million followers on Facebook since shipping its first cooler in September 2015 and now employs over 100 people. RTIC is based in the Houston suburb of Cypress and owns fulfilment centers in Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Harrisburg & Fresno occupying over 300,000 square feet of space.

My prediction is the this lawsuit will actually help RTIC sales.

I think so too. Kinda makes Yeti look a bit petty and definitely shows they don't give a shucks about the consumer. Basic cooler concepts and the rotomolding process were not invented by Yeti.

So, if you hold a patent that you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars getting, you would just let me start using your design to the exact specs of your patent at a lower price (since I don't have any research and development cost to increase my expense) and not worry about it?

ORCA is made right here in Nashville USA and I really like my 40. Screw the Chinese made products.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

But, they aren't the exact specs - just the same concept and manufacturing process. I have and have seen plenty of yetis and I have and have seen plenty of rtic's. They aren't the same exact specs.

I guess they sued them because of the RTIC price point more than the coolers?

It was because RTIC blatantly ripped off the design and said FU to anyone who said stop, until being forced to do so by the courts. It wasn't about the price.

As for Yeti, they aren't going to be dropping their prices. Consumers are paying the prices for their goods so why lower them? That would be stupid.

If you like Yeti stuff, buy it. If you like the Ozark knockoffs and prices, buy those. That's how it works. Not everyone wants or can afford a Lambo or Ferrari or loaded Suburban so they drive Fords and pickups and beaters.

looked them up, they look nice too. That backpack soft cooler looks awesome.

"Products bearing this symbol are designed by ORCA Coolers in the U.S.A., but may be produced outside of the U.S" is a confusing statement

That's a nice little workaround to say that they designed them here in the US and then sourced the production out of the country, like a lot of products. Design it here, go to China and have it produced, ship it back to be 'assembled in the US' or somesuch.

When you save on all the research and development costs and just copy someone else's work, it also helps keep costs down

If Yeti hasn't paid off research and development by now, they might should have rethought their strategy.

Will track deer in Marengo, Greene, Sumter, Wilcox, Perry, Hale counties.

Do you support generic drugs? This is their recipe for success. They make a copy cat and sell it at a lower price because they have zero dollars invested in the development of the original drug.
