Well I just killed my first deer with a bow. Story and pics to follow! What an awesome hunt. He ain't the biggest but I'm dang proud of him

Well ive had a rough season to say the least. Ive arrowed 2 deer and have been unable to recover them. This morning i killed my first deer with a bow:

I woke up at 4 and cut off the alarm. I told my wife that i didnt feel like going and i ended up making myself get up and it sure paid off. I got set up at about 550 and by the time i knocked an arrow and sat down i heard a deer walking to my left. I stood back up and saw horns and knew i was going to shoot this deer if he came into range. I grunted at him and he came into 25 yards behind some bushes and i didnt have a shot. He continued on to get downwind and was playing cat and mouse with me. He ended up walking towards the powerline and i thought for sure it was over. Well i pulled out my doe bleet can call and turned it over a few times the grunted at him, and on the last grunt I grunted at him hard. He couldnt resist it and came back in to take another look and that was his final straw. I watched this deer for a solid 25 minutes before he presented me the shot. I couldnt tell how far off he was, and couldnt range where he was walking because he was looking my way. I put my 30 yard pin right behind the shoulder and when the arrow released he ducked and i hit him in the spine. I didnt want the deer to suffer so i got down and finished him off with my pistol. He aint the biggest buck, but for a first deer with a bow i am dang sure proud of him.

Just keep grinding nwaljm. I've been bow hunting since I was 10. High school sports and going to college and working full time left me with minimal time to hunt. I've been going at it hard the last three years and it finally paid off. Persistence is keyy

Thanks guys! Can wait to get him on the wall. It was going to be my last hunt this morning, but the fever is real. I will probably get out there next weekend
