Oak jr. been dating a very sweet Christian girl for about 6 months now. She broke up with a yankee kid from up the road where we live about a year ago. Said yankee won't leave her alone and she tell's my boy that she has blocked him on all social media sorts that she can except Instagram (whatever that is) Girlfriend get's her Dad to call the yankee kid and he still keeps on stalking her and he's going to hurt himself.. yadayada. This is truly a very low drama girl and doesn't want any trouble.

How do you handle it?

I just found about it tonight and we rode to the kids house. Told Son to get out of the truck and stand by the door and not move. I called his Dad (neighbor) out and told him we were worried about his step son (yankee) and that he should know that he is threating to harm himself over my son's girlfriend and that if we can't get it taken care on that I'm not sure what is going to happen and pointed at my son. Of course my son being the wrestler is out there all bowed up. So, what if he doesn't stop harassing the young lady...what do you do?

I'm a file charges and show up for EVERY court appearance kind of guy.

My approach may not work for everyone. Pressing the issue could actually make him snap and I would hope the son is well enough trained to sort it out. If I'm present, I'll take care of it.

Personally, I would file a restraining order. If that doesn't work, get the kid to start a fight and then have your son finish it.

It appears that most everyone (except Yankee) has done what they can from a personal perspective. He (Yankee) sounds like he is a few bricks short of a load, if I was the young lady's parents - I would call the police, then I get a restraining order.

Have the young lady file an info report with L.E. every time it happens and back out of the situation yourselves. A fight over a girl is not the thimg to do unless the threat is here and now and immediate.

Well maybe its not none of my business but my son sure thinks it is his. My son is ready to rumble. I'm trying to solve a problem before I have medical bills to responsible for either my son's or the yankee kid.

I might would have let him know what his step son was saying so he could look into it. I would let my son decide what to do if didn't stop. You are setting up a bad situation. By telling him about your wrestling son. They can call that a threat and run with it.

No fight starting for sure and..............unfortunately, no escalation either. You can defend yourself and others if you need to but there can be no indication of escalation. You don't have to retreat any more if you don't want to either. That's good.

The step dad (my neighbor) is a good guy and said it seemed out the yankee step sons character to act that way and he would get to the bottom of it. We shook hands and we went away.

Like other asked, what'd the kids ol man have to say?

Tough one. Personally I feel like a lot of this teenage crap is attention seeking behavior. By you and your son giving him some attention, it could be getting the results he wants in a weird, perverse way. I'd ignore it and try to counsel my son and the girl on why I choose to ignore it. Sick people just want attention and they don't care if it takes weird behavior to get it. I would only take action if he made ignoring it impossible. If he's threatening to harm himself, I can ignore that. Threatening to harm others is a different story.
