I would think this would fall under the voyeur laws on trespassing but not too sure about it but if it doesn't the turkey shot sounds pretty good to me

It could have very well been a GW, you never know. Imagine shooting at it and it belonged to the State?

Although I think it is an invasion of privacy and would probably want to blast one as much as anyone else, shooting down a drone is a federal crime...Click here

We've got one we use to check out different things around the farm. It'll go 400' up and has a range of 3 miles. Good luck finding where it came from! To work even a mile away, does it have to have line of sight to do so. In other words, do I visually have to see it (in open space) for it to operate at that distance? God Bless, David B.

Bury it, I doubt it has a sent that a dog would dig up or a buzzard would find. if the state is using it i bet its got a gps
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

I'l bet hard money the state dosen't own or use drones for GWs, those are private owned drones...and subject to a lead infusion if flown over my property or anywhere I'm hunting.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

It just seems awfully invasive to me. A drone hovering over me with a camera is not much different than some creep standing in front of me with a camera filming me or my family without ever saying a word. WEIRDOS.

Drones are supposed to be registered and have a sticker on the bottom with the number. Doubt most rural folks do that though. But next time tell your buddy to use his binos and look for registration#.

These drones that are capable of flying that far away by law are supposed to remain below 400ft and within line of sight and yes they have built in GPS, even the $400 that I own. You view the camera real time thru your smart phone or tablet and see what it sees and a RTH (return to home) button that will bring it straight up to a height you program into it and come right back and land by itself in the same spot you started from.

God Bless, David B. That's understandable. The article he quotes is from an earlier Forbe's article. Supposedly the author confirmed with the FAA that shooting down a drone is in fact illegal. God Bless, David B. You don't have to see the drone to fly, simply watch your screen if out of sight.

Operates off of cellular signal, wouldn't think it would be wireless, satellite maybe? Which drone as are you using? God Bless, David B.

It could have very well been a GW, you never know. Imagine shooting at it and it belonged to the State? Not a GW. It's a cabin on the river. He could see a couple of guys land it. Since they cut our timber you can see across the river pretty well. Especially using binoculars. What gets me is they have probably 1000 acres of their own property, yet they're snooping around our lease with the drone. Flew it all the way across the Tallapoosa River. Probably 200 yards across the river at that point, then another 300 or so to the food plot.

Not saying this makes it ok, privacy wise. However, I know when I get new toys like that, I often want to push the limits of it. They might possibly were not even thinking about "snooping" and were probably just goofing around with it. Possible. My point is, they have a 1000 acres on their side of the river they can goof all they want.
