I haven't said much about the whole election thing, but I wanted to share this. I, as many others, felt as though things would have gone much different with the 2016 Presidential election resulting in an even greater downward spiral. I made a trip to New Orleans the day before the election to get an expedited passport. I had some time to kill before the passport would be ready, so I grabbed some lunch and browsed through a few shops. In a store called "A Simpler Time", I saw a copy of Arnold Friberg's "The Prayer At Valley Forge". It's like that picture was trying to speak to me. I left the store, but could not get the image of George Washington kneeling in prayer out of my mind. It would not let me go. Well, as the next day unfolded and votes were cast, I could not believe what transpired. I'm not sure what all George Washington prayed when Isaac Potts happened up on Washington praying a prayer "such a prayer I never heard from the lips of man" according to Potts. But, I'd like to think that Washington's prayer transcended time and helped to bring divine help once again to the United States of America. Prayers never die. Thank you, Mr. Washington, for your effectual, fervent prayers. God Bless the USA!

Guys, if you ever want to study leadership and leadership qualities, just study George Washington. Leadership is simply the ability to influence people. It can be good or bad, and thankfully, Washington used his for the good. If he had wanted he could have been named King, Emperor, President for life, but he used the influence he reluctantly held over our founding fathers to help set up the system we are in now, not perfect, but the finest in the world. As evidenced by this picture, he also relied heavily on God's hand to help guide him. Ask and ye shall receive.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
