I had lots of rubs and scrapes around the 20-23 of December , Section /Dutton area . Looks like it's went cold in that area as far as fresh rubs. Now 1000 yards across a highway last year rubs didn't start showing up till January 10 or so. Killed my biggest buck the 27th in full rut . Just wondering what's everyone's suggestions , thoughts.

Beginning to see some fresh rubs and scrapes in the Section area, some smaller bucks moving in places. One spot that I saw a lot of deer at last year has zero sign and have seen nothing there this year. Very strange year so far.

I agree in the valley you could still see some action. Where I hunt, it's done.

When we hunted up towards Stevenson it was done by this time so I would assume not much has changed and anything north and northeast of Western Sizzler grin in Scottsboro is done

The bucks on my place act plain dumb these last few weeks of the season. This is when I see my best deer. They'll chase does in broad daylight with desperatation all over the place.

I hunt in Stevenson. That secondary rut will kick in next week or the next and it will be decent. No where near as good as it was 2 weeks ago though

The last 10 days of Jan. will be the secondary rut/breeding period for central Jackson Co, Skyline and upper PRV. Good time to kill a full grown un.
