Any reviews on this gun? Wanting to get a new gun but can't decide between a deer/range gun or a .17hmr. I've shot a 270 since I was a kid, but was thinking about getting a .308 in the tikka t3x.

Remember Tikkas are all long actions, so no size or weight advantage by choosing a short action caliber.

Personally I would get a T3 while they are on sale changing to the T3X models. It would be a lot cheaper to change the recoil pad and bolt shroud on the T3 by several hundred.

There isn't enough difference between the two to make me want the x when the originals are still available. Like RH said, you can change the stuff out on the T3 and have money left for ammo They also left off the lateral grooves on top of the receiver on the x. Not that it really matters, but it's a machining step that was omitted. Kinda looked a little "plain" to me compared to the original

Just get whichever one you prefer. It doesn't matter much. There isn't a lot of difference.

I guess Simmons sale price expired. A couple weeks ago the t3 was $469.99 where the t3x was considerably more.

I'd love to buy a good rifle at the sale prices of online, however I can never get anyone to let them ship it to them. They always say no, order from us.. No they don't price match.. so its worthless for me to even look online here in my area.

If you are near a Gander Mountain they will take your FFL shipments, and if you order from EuroOptic they will even pay your FFL fees.
