How many of yall take binoculars with you when you go out. Ive been using my cheap tange finder which 4x for spotting and it sucks but its worked for the last few years. I never hunt from a box its always from a ladder stand,climber, or hoofing it on the ground. My brother took his with us the other day and it was nice having them but they're full size and he bitched and whined about them for the first half of the day so i wore them the second half and quickly knew why he was bitching. I was thinking some along the lines of 25mm tubes/compact versions. I honestly don't see my self using them every trip or ever hunting if they are going to be more of a hassle them they're worth. If they're small enough to fit in the back pack with out taking up to much real estate id see my self using them regularly but question is where does compact and quality/function line cross.

I have a set of Leupold 8x42, can't stand when I forget them.

I sure do. Would not hunt without them.

Nikon Marine 10x50s every time I'm in the woods. Don't leave home without them.

I do not go hunting without them.

I don't see how someone can hunt without them.

10x40 bushnells that I carry every single time. I will go back and get them if I forget even if I still hunted in.

Half or more of the deer I see I would never see without them. If you're hunting a field, you don't technically have to have them but I hunt nasty thick swamp bottoms and they are indispensable.

I always have mine but be cautious not to be so focused on looking at your deer you wait to late to shoot him/her.
Mine are on the Bino system that allows them hang on my chest.
A good 10x42 or 10x32 or 8x32 are plenty good for around here

Every hunt from deer to turkey to squirrels.

There are certain situations where it's best to not even bring them (extremely tight spots, hunting a narrow trail or road), but other than that I love having mine. Especially on a field, I love to just watch them even if they aren't shooters.

Nowadays, if you spend $250 or so you can get a decent pair. Spend $500 or more and get a real nice pair.

Carried a cheap pair of bushnells up until this Christmas. Santa gave me a nice pair of vortex 8x42's. I bought a badlands bino strap the next day and man what a difference! Won't catch me in the woods without them.

Only during rifle season

every hunt. go back and get them if i forget. don't ever pick up the rifle unless I have studied target thru bino's first.
