I will finally be in a tree tomorrow morning, walking in totally blind to a spot I found during turkey season that was full of white oaks and was close to some planted pines and old cutover....I may not sleep tonight ill update as the hunt goes tomorrow...

Aight im to my spot and about 23 feet up with wind in my face. Run a few deer out on my way in but they just trotted off no blowing.place is as expected and loaded with acorns.

Had 4 does come in about 60 sixty yards but thats as close as they came, I got down a little early to scout but quickly came to the conclusion that it don't matter where I hunt this whole place is full of acorns just loaded with white oaks. Ill be back in here this afternoon for sure

Back at it and its warm really warm, no deer as of yet. Forgot a hard hat this afternoon it's basically raining acorns. I grabbed a few on my way in but its useless I can't throw them out faster than they are falling.

No deer as of yet, so many stinking acorns its probably gonna be shear luck being close to a tree that they are feeding under. Ill post pic of new spot im hunting shortly....never mind photobucket gone nuts

You need to locate a "HOT" tree in the area. The one with the most sign- busted acorns, scat, tracks where turkeys have scratched, rubs! or move on.
