I know not every one reloads but run the numbers with the 7mm 180gr berger you will find that your numbers are very similar. Again, not everyone reloads. You would be able to get quite a significant amount of recoil reduction with only roughly 100fps less energy at the 500 yard line. Me personally, I have the 300win and it has served me well on game way out there. Only accurate rifles are interesting.

There is sometimes a lot of difference in flight ballistics and wound ballistics. I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing.
