Saw's in Homewood has the best BBQ ribs I have ever had, anywhere. Get them with the sauce on the side. I prefer no sauce because their rub is so good that sauce only screws it up.

Saw's. No other is close. If you want Ribs you have to go to the one in Homewood. Their ribs are the best in Alabama. Archibald's is a close second.

They all do different things better than others:

Saw's Crestline: bbq wings.
Saw's Avondale: pork and greens or their fried chicken sandwich
Ms Myra's: bbq chicken and white sauce
Golden Rule Hoover: cheeseburger
Rusty's Leeds: cheeseburger
Carlisle's: cheeseburger

If you are drinking beer, Saw's is the place to go and Crestline is the location. Some mighty fine looking women go through there.

We like BBQ Stop in the big city of Clay, AL. Great ribs, bbq and wings with several sauces to choose from.

Had the rib plate at Saw's. The ribs were really good, the sauce was a little too vinegar-y, the greens were good, and the Cole slaw was oil and vinegar based, which threw me off.

I still give the nod of the best ribs to the brick pit in Mobile.

Saws is good. I love Miss Myra's. And if you go to Prattville (obviously not in the scope of this question) then you need to go to Fat Boy's.

I am from South Carolina. To many of us, bbq is like football is here. These are the 3 best that I have had in Alabama so far.

Charlie's in Odenville is my favorite too. Best brisket in Alabama.

Sorry I listed cheeseburgers too. The best cheeseburgers are always found at BBQ places. Not sure why, but it's true. Rusty's in Leeds just won some award for theirs. Golden Rule on 31 has the best cheeseburger in Bham IMO. Fat Man's BBQ in Pell City has an awesome cheeseburger too.

There is never a reason to apologize for recommending cheeseburgers. Cheeseburger is always a good answer to any question.
