between softball tournaments and practices, hitting lessons at the center, and just to dang busy I havent been able to crappie fish at all this year as normal. I plan to take the kids on friday to relax as much for myself as for them....anyway crappie fished there lately to know anything about the lake right now? any help would be appreciatted.....ofcourse with a 11 year old, 5 year old and a 2-1/2 year old in the boat you cant ask for much more fun anyway - but a few fish to boot would be nice.

Haven't done any fishing on Mitchell this year but I've talked to a couple of guys that went to Lay last Friday and they pulled some out from under piers and a few off the edges of weed beds. Minnows in the grass and jigs under piers. He did say they were slow bites. Started at the edge of weed beds and the crappie would fool with it until it was about 6 feet out before it would take the bait.
