Three times in the last 10 days I have had Nockturnal's fall off the string.

I have been using these for several years and outside of the odd times when they come on when you put the nock on the string, they have performed pretty well. I am not sure if I got a bad batch or if their quality has gone down hill or what, but this last purchase will be my last. I bought these before season and took one out of the pack to tune my hunting arrows with and had no issues.

I am not sure why but somehow had it in my mind that I was using Lumenocks LOL. So I called Lumenock and spoke with Melissa who, after hearing my story put me on the phone with Jim. I again went through the whole story and Jim who asked me to describe the nock. I felt pretty foolish afterwards when he said that I had just described the competition, Nockturnal. I was obviously embarrassed and apologizing profusely, when he said; "No Worries, I'll tell you what, if you will give our nocks a try I will swap them out for you."

So let me get this straight I called the wrong company to complain about a product that they didn't make and the will happily swap it out for one of theirs? WOW! Both Jim and Melissa were empathetic and thoughtful. It was like I had just told my wife the story, it literally felt like they had lost deer too!

In stark contrast, I immediately hung up and called Nockturnal and got Ashley on the phone, who identified herself as the customer service manager. She initially said that she could swap them out but that it may take up to 2 weeks. I told her that I didn't have that long to wait and although she did offer to, "Try to expedite them", there was a noticeable lack of empathy and compassion. In the end Nockturnal did offer to replace their nocks so at least they backed up what they sell. I would rate the service call as average.

I will not purchase another pack of Nockturnals no matter what. I would rather use the damn nocks that came on the arrows. Lumenock, though will get my business based on their customer service alone.

I called Buck Bomb last year to complain about one of their cans of pee not working and they rushed me out a 6 pack the next day (It was at my house 2 days later). HHA sent me a part to my KingPin for free after I told the lady I dropped it in the grass. Thirdhand Archery sent me the short end of a stabilizer strap free of charge when I told him I lost it. Moultrie appreciated us making a huge investment in cameras a few years ago that they replaced many of them after the warranty had expired.

While, I am not saying that Nockturnal should have gone as far as these other companies did, I was disappointed with the lackluster performance of the product and the customer service did nothing to warrant any loyalty.

I can go to a restaurant and even if the food is sub-par I will tip well as long as my damn drink is full, because service is what is important to me. In an industry that is crowded to the point of over saturation, it is great that there are still a few companies that aint too big for their britches.

Would some wrap around your string fix it?

Sounds like when it comes to hunting / archery equipment: if it was raining pussies, you'd pick one up with a pecker in it. Get some NuFletch Ignitors and you won't have to worry about your nocks.

I've used both with no fails, and although I can't tell you why, I use only Lumenock now. I guess I just like the "look" of it better.

every lumenock I have every used did not initiate the light when I shot the bow. Have used the nocturnals with no problems. I believe if I ever have that problem ill just shoot factory nocks.

Only accurate rifles are interesting.

Yep I've had Lumenoks fail and switched to nocturnal and havent had a problem with them in 3 years. In fact I'm still using the same 3 I originally thought and they've all passed through this deer atleast once

I've gotta take up for nockturnals customer service a bit. I had one out of a three pack that would light up but it was so dim you could barely see it. While I was at the Buckmasters expo in Montgomery I stopped by their booth to ask what I needed to do to send it back for a replacement. The guy that I was talking to was apparently the owner and he just handed me a brand new three pack and told me not to worry about sending the other one back. Super nice guy. Sucks about your deer though.

I have noticed a difference in quality of the Nockturnals in the past couple of years. I bet I have gone through 6-7 packs in the past 5 years (Easton to GT swap) and the last 2 packs I have purchased had a different design (Nock seems to be fatter). Each pack contained at least 1 nock that was loose in my arrow. Of course I just did as others have mentioned and used a plastic Wal-Mart back to help make the fit better.

I like the Ignitors better. However, they all have flaws. The deer I shot this year, light turned off when the arrow passed through her and stuck in the dirt. I'm not sure that I'll buy anymore. I can still see my white fletching just fine without them.

I don't know what the hell a nockturnal is, but get a goldtip shaft, goldtip nock, gt insert and put a BH on that sucker, and go hunt. The only thing to blame is you.

I don't like having to glue the Ignitors in. I think I'm about over the hype of lighted nocks. I'm going back to the plain ol' nock.
