I prefer archery over gun season but will use a gun if I'm hunting a big food plot. I agree with Harold a big bow hunting only club would be outstanding and I believe you could grow some great bucks in just a few years.

Well I hunt on a military base that only allows bows on certain days. They may gun hunt every Saturday or Sunday, but bow hunt scattered days during the week. So I do both about 50/50.

I'm taking both.

I will probably carry the bow for another month unless I get my 1st bow kill. Then that monkey will be off my back. I still have plenty of deer meat so no rush for me to get the guns out yet.

I'll have my bow with me all season. Going to try and hit Bankhead Friday before the gun opener, then hitting Swan Creek for there last day of Archery on Sat. Also, I'm like the guy who just killed the monster in Bankhead, I hunt from a Millineium tree seat, but carry a makeshift blind with me that I roll up in a deer drag sled, and wear a ghillie leaf suit

Still have to sight in my rifles, so unless I get off my butt Sunday and do it I'll be toting the elite into the woods Monday morning. Now, when I decide to hunt a fresh 90 acre clear cut with shot potentials in the 300 yard range, and with a very large buck living somewhere in and around it, you best believe I'll bring the 7 mag out a time or two or three.

I only bowhunt. Probably won't go Saturday though with a NW wind at 10-20
