Well dang. The pics looked way bigger than that. I guess the drought up there will be indictive of our body weights too I bet ours will be down. On a normal year a 5.5 yr old would bump 200 up that way. Congrats

Here's another pic I had that shows the rack a little better from the front.

I decided to go with a full sneak mount - head up, ears back, slightly turning to the right. I'm looking forward to seeing what Charles at Artistic Whitetails does with him. thumbup

I was somewhat surprised that he only weighed 129 lbs. too. For comparison, the buck in the picture below was checked in right before I checked mine Monday morning. The biologist aged this buck at 4.5 years old. He weighed 128 lbs. field dressed. We were all kind of surprised that there was only 1 lb. difference between the two bucks weight wise - especially given that the 10 pt. has the appearance of being a much larger deer because his rack is wider. I reckon the drought could have something to do with it from a nutrition-intake standpoint, but there's plenty of water available for the deer to drink.

Kentucky is spotty on having the big northern body weights. From what I've seen, ft Knox bodies are about like our deer. They only have acorns and browse to feed on. The place where I generally hunt has bigger bodies, because about half the landscape is ag. A buddy killed one up there Thursday that would easily top 250 live weight.

CR, you ever hunted in a WalMart parking lot? I think you'd stand a good chance of killing a good buck anywhere you go. Must be that weeny dog smell.
